AkzoNobel has launched an ultra-reflec-tive powder coating, which can increase the effective output of commercial lighting fixtures by up to 30 percent.

Developed by the company’s Powder Coatings business, Interpon ReFlex delivers outstanding levels of light reflectance which make it very cost-effective. What’s more, because the product is solvent-free (like all powder coatings), it also has a lower environmental impact than competing materials used in the lighting market.

As well as its performance and sus-tainability benefits, Interpon ReFlex also offers easy application and use compared with other non-coating alternatives. Additional key features include excellent impact resistance and flexibility, as well as good corrosion and UV resistance.

Due to be introduced globally during the course of 2015, Interpon ReFlex has already been proven at major lighting manufacturers throughout North America.

Paint at Lowe’s

PPG’s Olympic Paint and Stain Olympic ONE exterior paint, a premium latex paint-and-primer in one, is now available nationally exclusively at Lowe’s.

The new Olympic ONE exterior paint makes application easy with excellent hiding power and coverage capabilities, according to Lia Gancas, senior manager, Olympic brand. Created for use on exterior wood, brick and aged masonry or concrete, aluminum and vinyl siding and metal, this addition to the Olympic paint portfolio delivers a weather-resistant, durable finish and UV (ultraviolet) protection with resistance to cracking, peeling and fading. The low-odor and low-VOC (volatile organic compound) formula can be applied in temperatures as low as 35 F.

Rust-Oleum Launches a
Line of Deck Coatings for
Exterior Wood Care

Rust-Oleum has launched 11 new products for exterior wood care. Rust-Oleum has introduced an enhanced line of deck coatings under the Rust-Oleum Restore brand. The new products simplify the deck refinishing process while refreshing the surface offering long-lasting protection to preserve the decks.

• Restore 10X Advanced is the next
generation product with 10X thickness
of ordinary paint that delivers enhanced
durability to extend the life of a deck.
An enhanced version of its predecessor,
Restore 10X Advanced offers superior
weather resistance and ultimate water
repellency protecting the surface from
the harshest of weather conditions. It is
formulated to resurface all wooden decks
and most composite decks or concrete pa-
tios. The surface can be walked on in as
little as 48 hours of application. Restore
10X Advanced locks down splinters and
fills ¼ inch cracks, making a safe yet ex-
tremely durable surface.

• Restore Deck Start Wood Primer simplifies the project preparation by eliminating the need for stripping and sanding. Simply clean the surface and apply one coat of Deck Start Wood Primer and deck preparation is complete. Restore Deck Start Wood Primer is applied over the existing deck coating to promote top coat adhesion. A unique feature to the primer is that it can be top coated with any solid color coating.

• Restore 2X One Coat is a solid
stain that requires one coat which saves
valuable time. Restore 2X One Coat
with Never Wet features hydrophobic
technology that repels water extending
the life of the deck. This algae and mil-
dew resistant coating contains superior
water repellency. It is available in 60

• Restore 12X Sealers contains 12X the thickness of ordinary sealers and offers long-term water repellency, protecting against cracking, splitting and warping and its mildew and algae-resistant coating keeps wood free of ugly mildew stains. Restore 12X Sealers are available in a clear or a Stain and Sealant with a hint of color which can be tinted up to six colors and provides one-coat coverage.

• Restore Semi-Transparent Stains beautify wood with long-lasting, richly pigmented finishes that offer maximum protection against fading, water absorption, cracking, peeling and blistering. Restore Semi-Transparent Stain with Metallic provides a shimmering finish while offering superior durability. This trendy stain brings a unique accented look to exterior wood care. It is available in two colors, Silver Slate and Brilliant Bronze. Restore Semi-Transparent Stain with Never Wet boasts hydrophobic water-repelling technology to extend the life of the deck. • Restore Transparent Finish & Preservative this transparent deep-pene-trating, rich oil brings out wood’s natural grain while also providing long-term water and UV protection.

• Restore Outdoor Furniture contains 4X the thickness of ordinary paint and delivers enhanced durability that extends the life of wood furniture while providing the surface with a smooth, uniform finish. The extensive color palette includes 15 vibrant colors.
