Dymax adhesives formulated with new
Encompass technology incorporate the
company’s See-Cure color-change and
Ultra-Red fluorescing technologies
into one light-curable product. As a
result, manufacturers gain efficiencies
from rapid, on-demand curing with
easy cure confirmation and post-cure
bond-line inspection.
While in an uncured state, an adhesive
formulated with See-Cure technology is
blue in color for easy verification of place-ment. As the product cures with sufficient
exposure to UV light, its blue color transitions to colorless and provides obvious visual confirmation that the adhesive is fully
cured and the bond site secure.
Products formulated with Ultra-Red
technology fluoresce bright red under
low-intensity black light (365 nm), contrasting well on plastics that naturally
fluoresce blue in color (like PVC). This
allows manufacturers to incorporate automated or manual quality inspection to
verify complete and accurate placement
of the adhesive after cure. Dymax is currently offering several medical-grade adhesives that are formulated with the new
Encompass technology.
Ross Offers Storage Vessels
Ross Storage Vessels are custom-built to
meet exact specifications for pressure, tem-
perature, material of construction, cover
design, discharge assembly and access ports.
The carbon steel vessel, for example, has a
full holding capacity of 9,750 gallons and is
ASME-stamped for 50-psig internal pressure
to full vacuum at 200oF. The elliptical style
top and bottom heads include various size
flanges and couplings at customer-specified
locations. Internal surfaces were thoroughly
cleaned, dried and media blasted; exterior
surfaces were also media blasted and coated
with red oxide primer. Prior to shipment, the
nozzles were capped and the tank purged
with 2psig of nitrogen, so as to arrive at the
customer’s jobsite in a clean, rust-free con-
dition. Lifting lugs and a caged removable
ladder and handrail with toe plate were also
provided. Ross offers a wide range of fab-
rication capabilities including: capacities
up to 100,000 gallons or larger; a large
variety of choices for material of con-
struction: carbon steel, stainless steel, alu-
minum, titanium, Monel, Hastelloy and
Inconel; agitators; custom ports and man-
ways; heating/cooling jacket; heat tracing;
sheathing and insulation; sanitary design;
passivation; special coatings and tank lin-
ers; code requirements such as ASME,
USFDA, BISSC, ABS, API650, API620 and
U142 and non-destructive testing.
Malvern Offers New
Software for NanoSight
NTA Systems
Malvern Instruments has launched
NTA 3.0, a new version of the software
that drives its NanoSight Nanoparticle
Tracking Analysis (NTA) systems. With
an improved, easy-to-use interface, the
new NTA 3.0 software makes accessing
programs and protocols quick and convenient. It also incorporates an upgraded
high-resolution particle size distribution
algorithm and supports advanced image
analysis, particle detection and tracking,
as well as providing improved vibration
correction. The new software is designed
for use across the complete NanoSight
NTA range and will be integral to all new
systems shipped, while existing users can
download their free upgrade via the appropriate product page on the Malvern
website at www.malvern.com.
Malvern NanoSight systems use
Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA)
to characterize nanoparticles in solution
in the size range 10 nm to 2000 nm (
depending on the sample). Each particle is
analyzed individually by direct observation and measurement of diffusion events.
This particle-by-particle methodology
produces high resolution results for par-
ticle size distribution and concentration,
while visual validation provides addition-
al data confidence. Both particle size and
concentration are measured, while a fluo-
rescence mode provides differentiation of
labeled or naturally fluorescing particles.
NTA 3.0 features automatic, integrated
hardware detection and communica-
tion for all the systems in the NanoSight
range. Compared with previous versions
it generates fewer files per experiment
and results are displayed on clear, con-
cise spreadsheets. Particle size distribu-
tions are shown as histograms for easy
interpretation. NanoSight NTA systems
are part of Malvern’s expanding portfo-
lio for characterization at the nanoscale.
By updating software for greater ease of
use and more efficient testing, NanoSight
NTA users can be sure of getting the best
possible performance from their system,
the company said.
Q-FOG CRH Cyclic
Corrosion Tester
Q-Lab Corporation has launched the
new Q-FOG CRH cyclic corrosion tester.
Q-FOG CRH corrosion testers can perform traditional salt spray and Prohesion
and meet most major international and
automotive corrosion test standards (
including GMW 14872, SAE J2334, and
many others from Ford, ISO, GB/T, VW,
Volvo, Chrysler, Renault, etc.). The testers are available in both 600 and 1100
liter sizes.
The new CRH tester features RH
control through the use of an innovative
air pre-conditioner. Ramp times can be
precisely controlled. In addition to atomized mist salt fog, the CRH model also
includes an optional shower function,
where spray droplets are much bigger
and flow rates are much higher. It also
features an advanced cleaning feature for
spray nozzles that prevents clogging fre-
quently found in competitive chambers.
The Q-FOG CRH offers a low pur-
chase price, full RH control, as well as
reliability and compatibility with most
international and automotive standards,
the company reported. CW
