rollouts
Eastward bound: DHL has launched direct less-than-containerload (LCL) service
from New York to Vienna, Austria, and Klaipeda, Lithuania. These new routes from
the United States to Eastern Europe are part of an ongoing rollout of direct consolidations, bringing fast, cost-efficient, and reliable services to the market.
Through Danmar Lines, DHL Global Forwarding’s in-house carrier, the new weekly guaranteed direct LCL service to Austria enables shipments to arrive up to five days
earlier, increasing business efficiency and competitiveness. Exporters in the United
States can now ship their cargo every Thursday from New York to Austria, port to port
in 14 days. This allows them to extend their supply chains in Eastern Europe to the
Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, and
Macedonia markets.
The biweekly direct service to Klaipeda, from New York every Tuesday reduces
transit time by five to seven days. The new direct service to Klaipeda is port to port
in 18 days. It links U.S. exporters to the Baltic trade in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Minsk,
and Kiev. (DHL, dhl.com)
Value lifting: Big Lift has launched a new line of value-oriented

stout construction, and low operating costs, according to the
company.
The new Big Joe Basic Series includes the S30 walk-behind
straddle truck, the C22 walk-behind counterbalanced truck, the
M22 manual stacker, and two electric pallet trucks—
the PTE30 and PTE45—for medium-duty applications. (Big Lift LLC, www.bigjoeforklifts.com)

Beverage routing: HighJump Software offers its
HighJump RouteCenter On-Demand, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) version of the HighJump
RouteCenter route accounting system. The solution leverages HighJump Software’s history of
offering hosted transportation management systems and is the first of several HighJump
Software products that will be introduced in an
SaaS deployment model.
HighJump RouteCenter is a route accounting
system with complete functionality for beer distributors, soft drink bottlers, and wine and spirits
distributors. This includes order management,
inventory management, route settlement, pricing, promotions, and integration to HighJump
Software’s mobile software suite. The system
also provides taxation and regulatory reporting to
help manage the complex, highly regulated
nature of alcohol sales. HighJump RouteCenter
also allows beverage distributors to perform e-commerce transactions with retailers and supplier organizations.
HighJump RouteCenter On-Demand provides
software updates, maintenance, and infrastructure support, allowing direct store delivery companies to focus on running their core business
operations. Since the solution is hosted at
HighJump Software’s data center, no hardware
or server upgrade purchases are required.

Labeling made easy: Fox IV Technologies introduces the Model 2010 Basic Mini label printer
applicator incorporating the Datamax M-Class
Mark II printer. The Model 2010 Basic Mini is
designed as a low-cost solution for companies
requiring a label printer applicator that is simple
to operate and maintain. The Basic Mini has a
very small footprint at just 18 inches high, 13. 6
inches deep, and 18 inches wide. Users may
select either an 8- or 14-inch application cylinder
to print and apply labels ranging from 1 by 1
inch to 4. 25 by 6 inches in size.
Operators will find changing label and ribbon
supplies easy by following the label and ribbon
paths screen-printed directly on the center wall,
the company says. There is no threading diagram to try to decipher. The easy-access cover
and modular components make service and
repair a snap.
The Basic Mini is part of Fox IV’s “Intelligence
Built-In” series of label printer applicators that do
not require a PC for many applications. Databases
and application-specific software can reside in the
printer applicator. Peripheral devices, such as bar-code scanners, scales, and keyboards, can be connected directly to the unit—all controlled by a 100
MHz, 32-bit multi-tasking processor. (Fox IV
