; Solutions for every department. Indonesian retail chain
Centro Lifestyle Department Stores has selected RedPrairie’s
Execution Management solution to enhance on-time sales initiative execution and communication between its corporate
offices and stores. Centro plans to roll out the software at five
stores in the coming months.
; High-stakes partnership. Omaha Steaks has contracted
with Hanson Logistics, a company that specializes in temper-ature-controlled supply chain services, for the distribution of
inventory to 21 retail stores in the greater Midwest market.
Hanson Logistics will serve its new client from its Chicago
Consolidation Center.
; Green gardens. Wada Farms, an Idaho-based potato, onion,
and sweet potato grower and shipper, has expanded its relationship with CHEP for pallet pooling services. Through its use
of the CHEP pooling system, Wada Farms is reducing solid
waste by nearly 400 tons each year, while decreasing greenhouse gas emissions by 58 percent.
; Food storage. Gehl Foods, a dairy company
based in Germantown, Wis., has selected
Westfalia Technologies to design, build, and
install a high-density automated storage and
retrieval system (AS/RS) with Savanna.NET
Warehouse Management Software (WMS). The
AS/RS and WMS systems will be implemented in the company’s 300,000-square-foot warehouse.
; Keeping it in the Family. Family Express, an Indiana-based
chain of 52 convenience stores, will use Osiris Innovations
Group’s OIG Suite to boost its supply chain operating efficiency. Family Express will use the software to automate its sourcing, procurement, fulfillment, and payment processes.
; Flying high. MAINtag SAS and Tego have announced that their
jointly developed FLYtag RFID products will be used to tag thousands of aircraft parts across the Airbus A350 XWB fleet. Airbus
will use the standards-compliant, high-memory, and fully passive
RFID tags to help it achieve its supply chain visibility goals.
