Ocean view: Inttra, an e-commerce platform for the ocean freight industry, introduces Inttra
Act Track and Trace 2.0. This Web-based container tracking application allows shippers and
freight forwarders and their partners to quickly and easily track in-transit containers.
Inttra Act Track and Trace 2.0 tracks container events provided electronically by carriers on the Inttra platform. Users can easily search by container, bill of lading, carrier booking number, carrier name, and more. Results can be filtered quickly, making multicarrier
container tracking faster than obtaining information by visiting individual carrier sites.
Track and Trace 2.0, which supports multiple languages, includes the capability to track
containers for more than 30 ocean carriers. (Inttra, www.inttra.com)

Mobile monitoring: Wavelink Corp. has
unveiled Avalanche 5.0, the latest version of the
company’s flagship mobile device management
and wireless infrastructure management software. Avalanche 5.0 provides centralized configuration, deployment, and management of
mobile devices and wireless infrastructure that
works seamlessly across local- and wide-area
networks. It improves the productivity of mobile
workers, increases network security, and
reduces the total cost associated with owning
and managing mobile devices and peripherals.
Avalanche 5.0 offers new capabilities, such
as device location mapping, additional WWAN
enhancements, security compliance tools, and
a new Web-based console. With the new loca-tion-based services, organizations can view
detailed information regarding the current and
past location of devices being managed and
how they are being used. The client gathers
GPS information—including latitude, longitude,
heading, and speed—and the location of the
devices is then provided in a Web-based map
with street-level views. When GPS is unavailable, Avalanche can even provide location
information based on cell tower associations.

On the level: Designed to
provide a smooth transition from the truck bed to
the loading dock floor, the
Nordock Flex-Lip dock leveler can lead to substantial
cost savings by reducing
equipment damage, personnel injury, and damage to fragile goods, according to the manufacturer. The Flex-Lip reduces the risk of low-clear-ance grounding while loading and unloading,
which reduces impact and forklift wear and tear.
The Flex-Lip dock leveler lip is activated by
linkage technology. The lip extends automatically as the leveler deck descends. It then
maintains the lip horizontally on the trailer bed
in all positions (even in below-dock loading
operations) and provides a smooth transition
between the truck bed and the dock floor. The
dock leveler is available in three models—ADF
air powered, SHF hydraulic, and NMF mechanical. (Nordock, www.nordockinc.com)
Belt way: Habasit America introduces the TF-
100T live roller belt for the material handling
industry. Made with Aramide cords embedded
in the TPU layer, this belt can navigate small
pulleys and help control rising replacement
costs.
If needed, the TF-100T can be spliced into an
existing belt. (Habasit America,
