Remaining in suspense: Sealed Air Corp. announces a new variation on its Korrvu suspension and retention packaging that combines the best of both formats into a third new hybrid category. The Korrvu Hybrid package design looks like Korrvu retention packaging, but offers the performance benefits of Korrvu suspension packaging, the company says. The Korrvu Hybrid package uses a retention frame and elastomeric film to hold items securely in place during shipment. When the side flaps of the corrugated retention frame are folded up, the resilient film is loosened, creating an insertion pocket where the item can be placed. When the flaps are folded down, the film, which is attached to the corrugated frame, stretches over the product and holds it securely in place.

Like a Korrvu suspension package, the Hybrid package holds the item securely in the air space of the shipping container and away from the sides of the box. The new design is suitable for low-pro-file products requiring retention-type surface protection with a sus-pension-type hold, such as cell phones, cameras, and laptops.

Korrvu Hybrid packaging provides a lower-cost solution compared with other suspension packages, the company says. It is also recyclable and contains more than 30 percent recovered paper, making it easy for customers to be environmentally responsible. Getting some lift: The Kelley Hulk Rail Lift is a self-contained, sur-face-mounted lift designed for facilities requiring versatility in applications lacking space or the right configuration for a conventional dock lift. The Hulk Rail Lift includes interchangeable parts, offers smaller platform sizes to fit tighter spaces, and is both inexpensive to install and easy to relocate.

The device, which is available in 4,000- and 6,000-pound capacities, includes a 5hp motor for lifting speeds of up to 20 feet per minute and a lifting range of up to 84 inches. The direct-thrust cylinder also provides constant speed through the full range of travel. Platform sizes for the lift can be as small as 4 by 5 feet. The lift’s lowered height is 4. 5 inches, creating a versatile lift for smaller facilities.

Safety features include a pre-wired NEMA 12 control panel and a self-contained power unit, a NEMA 4X hand control, a velocity fuse on the lift cylinder to prevent uncontrolled descent, and beveled toe guards. (Kelley Co., www.kelleycompany.com)

Bin there: Aigner Index introduces a complete labeling system for standard plastic bin label slots. Tri-Dex Label Holders, which are made of crystal clear PVC, are fabricated to a tri-fold configuration that seals and protects the label. No adhesive backing is required. The user simply prints a label, slides it into the holder, and snaps it into place.
