More in store: The new KardexRemstar automated drawer carousel is a storage solution that consists of an oval track with rotating bins (or shelving sections) containing shelves and totes that automatically deliver stored items to the operator. As with standard drawer systems, totes slide in and out of the shelving, allowing operators quick and easy access to parts. The automated drawer carousel delivers the required part to the operator, increasing productivity by eliminating time wasted searching through drawer cabinets.

The automated drawer carousel can provide more storage locations in less floor space for up to 20 percent less cost when compared with standard drawer cabinets, the company says. By increasing part density, the automated drawer carousel can replace 25 or more standard drawer cabinets at a lower cost by providing more storage locations. With 60 additional cell locations per bin, the carousel can provide up to 5 percent more storage locations compared with standard drawer cabinets.

Flexible and versatile: Creform Corp. has introduced a new picking cart design that combines good ergonomics, safe handling within warehouses or manufacturing facilities, and sustainability through ease of modification. The carts feature three angled shelves on each side that can hold either totes or boxes and cant toward the outside, providing good loading and unloading access. Vertical compartments below the shelves provide convenient storage for tote lids to protect contents during transport.

Because the carts are built using the Creform System of plas-tic-coated steel pipes and metal joints, they are easy to assemble and then modify as needs change.
