ProStack double-leg ratchet pallet: Recognizing that 70 percent of pallet damage occurs when a forklift hits a pallet’s leg,
Polymer Solutions International has created a pallet with a
stronger leg design. The company believes this design feature
will extend the usable life of the pallet.
The company’s ProStack double-leg ratchet pallet is designed
with a telescoping double leg that has a series of interlocking
teeth. This ratchet-style construction secures the top deck to the
base via the interlocking legs to yield a connection three times
stronger than welded or snap pallet construction designs, the
manufacturer says. The double-leg construction forms nearly half
an inch of damage protection, two to three times thicker than
that of old-style single-leg pallets.
ProStack pallets are made from 100-percent recyclable, FDA-approved high-density polyethylene (HDPE). In addition to resisting bacteria, mold, and other contaminants, the pallets feature an
open-grid top deck and smooth finish that is easy to clean and
inspect. The ProStack pallet is available in several different materials, including approved grades for fire-retardant applications.
The pallets are rated for a 30,000-pound static load or a
5,000-pound dynamic load. Edge rackable to 2,200 pounds,
they offer four-way fork entry and are suitable for use in general industry, pharmaceutical, food processing, beverage, and
warehousing applications.
The ProStack pallet may be customized with the following
options: perimeter lip, hot-stamped logo or identification marks,
grommets, solid top deck, and a variety of colors. (Polymer

Dock lift bridge activators: Advance Lifts Inc. has released two
new activators for dock bridges, the platforms that allow lift
trucks to travel between the dock and trailers. The new methods
of bridge activation are by hydraulic cylinder and by winch. Both
of these new methods allow for longer steel bridges and provide
an alternative to costly aluminum bridges.
The Hydraulic Bridge Activator option requires no additional
electrical lines to the base frame. The control is a separate push
button that can be moved to a convenient point on the platform.
The cylinder actuator is either mounted under the platform for
units with at least 8 inches lowered height or on the side of the
platform for lower units. The platform working space is never
compromised. Truck bed deflection is automatically compensated for in the fully deployed position with a bridge float hydraulic
circuit. Solid steel bridges up to 48 inches long can be used with
this option.
The Electric Winch Bridge Activator option requires 110V
power at the base frame to power the winch. The winch is
mounted on the outside of the handrails to preserve maximum
platform working space and is still easily accessible. Because
nothing is added to the underside of the deck, this option works
well with very low units. The compensator spring is a visual cue
for judging full bridge deployment and compensates for truck
bed movement as loads are transferred between the lift and
truck. One-piece steel bridges up to 48 inches long can be used
with this option. (Advance Lifts Inc., www.advancelifts.com)

Lantech’s Q-300XT stretch wrapper: Lantech’s new Q-300XT
stretch-wrapping machine has a larger load-placement window
for its automatic film cut-and-clamp system than previous wrappers. The machine automatically attaches film to the load and
then cuts the film after it has been wrapped around the load.
The Q-300XT can wrap loads up to 80 inches tall and
weighing up to 4,000 pounds.
The XT film cut-and-clamp system is designed to eliminate fork-driver dismounts. The Q-300XT stretch wrapper
allows the fork truck operator to simply drive up, position
the pallet on the turntable, start the machine with a lanyard
switch or a wireless Click-n-Go remote, and drive
away–without ever getting off the vehicle.
The new-design cut/clamp module is now standard on all
X-equipped Lantech machines, and a retrofit kit for existing
machines with the XT cut-and-clamp
module will be available for
select models. (Lantech,
