Fleet maintenance package: Prophesy
Transportation Solutions, a provider of trucking and logistics software solutions, offers a
new version of its fleet maintenance package,
FleetTrax Premier. This newest release adds
advanced reporting and organizational capabilities and enhanced integration to the
Prophesy DispatchSeries.
The new release also adds seamless integration to the popular QuickBooks Pro
accounting solution. Through the new
QuickBooks integration, users will be able to
post transactions such as purchase orders,
shipments, work orders, and returns with
ease. Users will also be able to quickly export
account information, maintenance codes,
charges, and customer and vendor information from FleetTrax to QuickBooks, keeping
data up to date.
An Inventory Audit Worksheet also shows
all in-stock parts. Users can print this report to
cross-check the data with their physical inventory. The software also provides access to a
parts history that lists any parts that have
been added or removed from the inventory.

Vertical lift module:
Sapient Automation is
now providing an automatic tray-height scanning system for its Viper
vertical lift module (VLM). It has also
redesigned the module’s tray design. These
changes can provide over 50 percent more
storage density while allowing distribution
facilities to reduce their unit acquisition cost.
The automatic tray-height scanning system
determines each tray’s exact storage height
requirement down to a one-inch increment
every time a tray is retrieved. The VLM’s control system then determines the optimum
storage position for the tray based on optimizing space and retrieval time.
The new tray design incorporates a number of enhancements to provide increased levels of storage capacity. The Viper VLM tray
now has thinner sidewalls, flat bottoms, and
no dividers or support cross members in the
open storage area. Likewise, the trays are
available in 2-, 3-, and 4-meter widths. The
flat bottom design eliminates the need for
tray liners, which increase costs and take up
space. The thinner sidewalls provide more
storage space. By eliminating reinforcement
cross members in the storage area, users are
able to increase storage capacity and improve
storage management. (Sapient Automation,

Laser bar-code scanner: The AccuLazr AL5010 laser bar-code scanner from Accu-Sort Systems now offers users access via the iPhone and iPad. A smartphone or
tablet PC can be used to remotely monitor and diagnose warehouse operations by
accessing a Web page hosted on the laser bar-code scanner. A cable connection to
the scanner is no longer required in order to monitor the system’s performance.
The remote-connectivity capability of the AL5010 bar-code scanner allows a user
to remotely diagnose system performance, which helps warehouse managers
resolve issues faster. No additional software and setup is required. (Accu-Sort
