Transfer conveyor: Intelligrated, a North
America-based automated material handling solutions provider, has released its new
motor-driven roller (MDR) transfer conveyor.
The section facilitates a 90-degree change in
direction of cases, polybags, and totes to satisfy
the product-handling demands of e-commerce
and omnichannel fulfillment operations.
The MDR transfer features drive rollers with
integral 24-volt DC motors for individually
powered zones and multiple transfer belts with
adjustable band spacing to maximize product
control and operational flexibility needs.
The bidirectional MDR transfer offers quiet
operation and run-on-demand features that
use up to 50 percent less energy than a
traditional conveyor. Improved controls and
efficient designs enable quick startup, simple belt replacement, and easy maintenance.

Vision-guided technology for tow trac-
tor: Yale Materials Handling Co. has released
vision-guided technology for its
MO50T tow. It is the first product
developed by Yale in conjunction
with Seegrid, a manufacturer of
automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
Yale says the technology, which
allows the tow tractor to be oper-
ated manually or as an AGV, is easy
to implement in existing warehouse opera-
tions. It requires no infrastructure for naviga-
tion, such as wires, laser targets, or magnetic
tapes, according to the companies. An opera-
tor “trains” the vehicle by driving the desired
route and programming selected behaviors.
The vision system, called Guided by Seegrid,
captures images of the surrounding environ-
ment to create a map for route navigation.

Dual-entry rack: Gen 2 of Twinlode’s
dual-pallet rack now comes with tubular racking instead of the more traditional rolled-steel
welded racking. This innovation allows the rack
to better handle seismic events and impacts
from forklift trucks.
The rack is built so that two pallet locations
are placed side by side with an open space in
the middle, which allows a forklift to drive into
the rack and pick two pallets at a time.
This new generation of Twinlode’s dual-pallet rack is the result of a strategic partnership
with rack manufacturer Hannibal Industries.

Vertical lift module: Kardex Remstar, a manufacturer of automated storage and retrieval systems,
has introduced a new heavy-duty vertical lift module
to its product line. The Shuttle XP 1000 will handle
up to 1,000 kilograms, or 2,205 pounds, per tray.
The new shuttle is aimed at companies that handle heavy goods, including those in the oil and gas
industries. The product joins the company’s vertical
lift module line, which also includes the 250, 500,
and 700 models. (The model number indicates the
weight capacity of the trays in kilograms.)
The Shuttle XP 1000 ranges from 100.4 inches to
789.4 inches in height, 93 to 171 inches in depth,
and 62. 2 to 172.4 inches in width. The new trays
use casters rather than plastic sliding shoes to move
in and out of the access area. Kardex Remstar says
the modules provide high-density storage, allow fast access to inventory, and offer
large storage capacity in a small footprint.
The company also announced that it has expanded its Megamat Vertical
Carousel line, adding the Megamat RS 650 and RS 180 in addition to its redesigned RS 350 product. The heavy-duty Megamat RS 650 has a load capacity of
1,433 pounds per carrier and 41,887 pounds maximum per unit; the light-duty RS
180 has a capacity of 396 pounds per carrier and 13,260 pounds per unit. (Kardex
