“Pay-on-Use” labels: Endicia, a provider of e-commerce shipping
technologies and services, has introduced the first “Pay-on-Use
Returns” shipping labels that can be used for items transported
by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
Unlike traditional USPS labels, Endicia’s Pay-on-Use Returns
shipping labels are not prepaid. Postage is only deducted if and
when a return label is scanned into the mail stream.
The shipping labels can be either mailed with the goods ordered
by online shoppers or e-mailed to them. With Endicia’s Pay-on-Use
Returns service, online businesses no longer need to spend time
requesting refunds for return shipping labels that go unused or
absorb the cost of including a prepaid USPS return label in their
shipments.
Additionally, by providing shippers with a preprinted or e-mailed
return label, online retailers make the returns experience easier,
which can lead to repeat business, says Endicia.
Endicia’s Pay-on-Use Returns service joins the existing suite
of Endicia Returns solutions, which include prepaid USPS return
labels and the recently released cross-border Canada Returns solution. (Endicia, www.endicia.com/pay-on-use-returns)
Electric motor: Baldor, a manufacturer of industrial electric
motors, drives, and mechanical
power transmission products,
has released a new line of large
energy-efficient electric motors.
The Large AC – GPM induction
motor product is available with
up to 1,500 horsepower.
Baldor was already well known
for its off-the-shelf smaller motors and for its large custom-made
motors. The company sees this new line as providing customers
with general-purpose large motors that can be purchased “off
the shelf.”
The new GPM AC motors can be used for various industrial
applications, such as conveyors, pumps, fans, and compressors
requiring high torque.
Baldor is a member of the ABB Group. (Baldor Electric Co.,

Mobile scale: In response to industry demands for a product that
can produce accurate weight measurements from a powered pallet truck, IVDT Solutions Inc. created the ED2-EP mobile scale built
specifically for electric pallet trucks.
According to IVDT Solutions, the scale provides consistent and
accurate weighing (+/- 1 percent or better) with a walkie or ride-on powered equipment, without modifying the forks or derating
the vehicle.
The scale uses IVDT’s “Lift Accurate” software solution and
rugged hardware interface to achieve this level of accuracy. The
ED2-EP’s rugged and reliable design, which is purpose built for
the toughest of environments, transforms an existing class III piece
of equipment into an accurate mobile weighing platform. (IVDT
