Automated vehicle inspection reports:
Airclic, a developer of cloud-based visibility and control solutions, has released a
U.S. Department of Transportation (
DOT)-compliant reporting solution that helps to
automate the daily Driver Vehicle Inspection
Reporting (DVIR) process.
Airclic’s workflow technology allows users
to easily track and report inspections using
their mobile supply chain management solution. This helps customers protect against noncompliance and enables managers to quickly
identify issues that need to be addressed in
order to keep fleets running on time.
The system enables circular inspections of
multiple pieces of equipment, guiding the
driver around tractors, trailers, and dollies in
a logical order, instead of requiring them to
inspect one piece of equipment at a time. The
solution features user-definable inspection
zones and points for each type of equipment. Guided inspections can be updated as
requirements change or as needed to focus
on specific trouble spots that require regular
checks. (Airclic, www.airclic.com.)
Cargo security system: TrakLok International
LLC, a cargo security firm, has added new
features to its cargo security platform.
The TrakLok security platform includes an
integrated lock, alarm, and tracking system to deter unauthorized access to remote
and in-transit loads. The
company has recently added features that
improve monitoring and
alerts for lock and latch
status changes, enter
and exit fences, and low
battery issues. These
new security features address the issues of
load tampering.
The new alarm and alert features include
four new user-selected alerts for locked/
unlocked and latched/unlatched status
changes, a configurable alert notification if
unknown or invalid codes are entered into the
device, an alert notification when the battery
charge falls below a preset level, and support
for international address formats.
The TrakLok alarm system provides coverage even when the driver is unavailable.
Alarm and alert notifications and GPS-based
location are sent via a wireless communication
platform. Other features of TrakLok include a
geofencing system that prevents lock opening
anywhere other than user-defined locations.
The reusable system can be moved to another
trailer or cargo container in under 30 seconds.

depreciation, maintenance schedules, warranty agreements, and software contracts.
The new version of the software has an easy-to-use interface and a customizable
dashboard. The solution is now iOS and Android compatible. The latest version
of MobileAsset allows for instant updates and increased security. (Wasp Barcode
