Mobile computer:
Motorola Solutions Inc.
is offering the third
generation of its mid-range mobile computer. The new lightweight
MC3200 mobile computer is suitable for
inventory-related tasks
in the warehouse aisle and on the loading
dock where mobile workers need to rapidly
and accurately pick orders.
According to Motorola, the MC3200 is
cost-effective and the industry’s first enter-prise-class mobile device available with support for both the Android and Windows
Embedded Compact (CE) 7 operating system (OS). This option enables businesses to
standardize on one OS for all of their enterprise applications. With premium models of
the MC3200, companies can swap between
Android and Windows CE7.
Like previous versions of the MC3000
series, the MC3200 allows customers to mix
and match three unique form factors and
three keypads to create the right device for
different jobs. In addition, all existing peripherals and accessories for the MC3000 series
will be compatible with the new MC3200,
including cradles and battery chargers.
The device has a fast dual-core 1GHz
processor, high-speed 802.11n WLAN radio,
expanded memory options, and Motorola’s
latest 1-D and 2-D scan engines. (Motorola

Lift tables: Air Technical
Industries (ATI) has
developed a new series
of Zero-Low Ground
Level Lift Tables. The lift
is powered by an electric motor with the lifting action provided by
machine or ball screw instead of hydraulics.
The benefit of eliminating hydraulics is that
everything is built into the machine, and
there is no longer any need for hydraulic oil
or a remote power pack. The operation is
quiet, smooth, clean, and suitable for laboratory, food processing, and pharmaceutical
operations. The new Zero-Low design is also
available in stainless steel or aluminum construction.
The lift is available in capacities of 250,
500, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, and 6,000 pounds.
Customers can select from various standard
and customizable sizes, including widths from
26 by 36 inches up to 60 by 72 inches and
heights of up to 48 inches. (Air Technical

Plastic display pallets: Orbis Corp., an international manufacturer of sustainable
reusable packaging, has introduced a new line of plastic display pallets that can be
moved directly from the truck to the retail floor for in-aisle or end-of-aisle displays.
These all-plastic modular display pallets are available in footprints of 24 by 24
inches, 24 by 48 inches, and 48 by 48 inches.
The pallets have a flat, smooth surface and contoured corners, which won’t damage product loads and are shopper-friendly. Made from durable nonporous plastic,
these heavy-duty pallets can carry a variety of load sizes and withstand the stressors
of a retail environment. (Orbis Corp., www.orbiscorporation.com)
