ITL’s expedited door-to-door domestic
intermodal temperature-controlled service
departs from/returns to intermodal ramps in
Spokane, Wash., Portland, Ore., and Seattle
six days per week. ITL has a service radius of
about 160 miles from/to intermodal ramps
in Spokane, Portland, and Seattle, and can
pick up/drop off loads in many parts of
Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
The company’s door-to-door transit times
are now only four to five days to/from the
Midwest and just six to seven days to/from
various destinations on the East Coast, which
is nearly as fast as long-haul trucks.
ITL utilizes domestic 53-foot refrigerated
containers to move fresh produce, frozen
foods, and other refrigerated products eastbound from Washington state and Oregon to
the Midwest and East Coast.
For return westbound service, ITL is able
to haul various refrigerated and temperature-controlled products or dry products.

Enterprise mobile computer: Designed to
boost productivity and reduce worker fatigue,
Zebra Technologies Corp.’s new lightweight
TC8000 enterprise mobile computer decreases muscle effort by eliminating the need for
“tilt and verify” motions warehouse workers
repeatedly conduct with traditional devices.
Shaving seconds off each repetitive motion
saves one hour per worker per shift, which
increases productivity by an average of 14 percent based on workflow, the company says.
Zebra says that its Android-based TC8000
mobile computer also reduces training time
and makes data entry significantly faster
and more accurate in challenging industrial
settings.
The TC8000 offers triple-shift battery
power and can be used for warehouse management, store receiving, inventory management, voice-directed picking, and supply-line
replenishment applications. In addition,
the computer automatically updates legacy
Terminal Emulation “green screens” into
modern graphics-based All-touch Terminal
Emulation screens without requiring IT to
modify back-end systems. The highly intuitive user experience on the TC8000’s large
touchscreen not only reduces the number of
interactions required to complete a task but
also increases accuracy. (Zebra Technologies
