Upgraded battery charger: TVH in the Americas (TVH), a provider of replace-
ment parts and accessories for the material handling and industrial equipment
industry, has updated the look of several models of the Energic Plus Charger.
Selected Energic Plus models, the TSS, TST, and REC, have gotten a facelift that

Power management program: EnerSys
now offers the Zero Battery Change (ZBC)
solution, a customized power management
program for lift truck fleets that provides a
cost-effective alternative to liquid propane,
hydrogen fuel cells, and conventional lead-acid battery charging systems. The ZBC solution
allows lift trucks to operate all day without
changing batteries and without the need for
a battery room.
With the ZBC solution, drivers simply pull
up and plug in. Operators can charge their
trucks during regularly scheduled breaks,
eliminating the need to change batteries,
even in multishift operations, while keeping every lift truck performing at its peak
throughout the day.
EnerSys offers everything needed to eliminate battery changes, starting with a full evaluation of the operation to installation, report
programs, preventative maintenance, and
repair services, all under one limited warranty.
The ZBC solution includes ZBC Designer
software, an interactive modeling software
that identifies the most efficient and cost-effective energy configuration for companies
running forklift fleets. The software completes operational and financial analysis within 30 minutes to provide a savings framework. (EnerSys, www.enersys.com)
Modular chargers: Douglas Battery, a
provider of batteries and chargers for material handling applications, has introduced its
new line of LegaC2 high-frequency modular
chargers.
Available in either a freestanding or
wall-mounted design, the LegaC2 modular
chargers are suitable for a wide range of
battery capacities and are engineered to
maintain peak efficiency at all times. Due to
the modular construction, charger modules
can be switched on and off automatically. If
a single module develops a minor fault, the
charger will bypass it and continue operation
at reduced power, resulting in a continued
charging process and uninterrupted fleet
operations.
The LegaC2 modular charger product line
includes single-phase and three-phase three-and six-bay models in a range of charging
capacities. For maximum flexibility, the new
chargers include a number of charging profiles, from standard flooded and valve-reg-ulated lead acid (VRLA) gel to opportunity
charging, cold storage, and VRLA gel-bloc
batteries. Additional features include an
LCD screen with programmable menu and
USB port to easily download charger data.
