Lithium battery charger:
Delta-Q Technologies, a maker
of battery charging solutions
for electric drive vehicles and
machines, has introduced its
ICL900 lithium battery charger.
The ICL900 is a 900-watt
charger that’s designed to optimally charge lithium battery systems of any lithium-ion chemistry
from nine to 15 cells in series. Delta-Q’s new lithium charger is
suitable for use on any electric machine, including lift trucks,
floor-care machines, scooters, and sport and utility vehicles, the
company says.
The charger has a maximum output voltage of 57 volts and
uses custom lithium algorithms to optimize battery performance
and life to meet tough application requirements. The ICL900
also carries a comprehensive set of global regulatory approvals,
including touch-safe requirements for the European electric vehicle market.
Featuring a wide AC input range, the charger can operate on
any single-phase electrical grid around the world. With a fully
customizable, field replaceable cable design, the new ICL900
provides original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with flexibility
in design and deployment.
The ICL900 is highly reliable and provides an IP66 rating to
protect against dirt and fluids, the manufacturer says. (Delta-Q

Forklift and AGV batteries: Valence Technology has
announced that its safe lithium iron magnesium phosphate
(LiFeMgPO4) chemistry platform is now available in 24 volts in
its new 24XP series of batteries. The 24XP series modules are
designed for forklift and similar applications with their reliability, long cycle life, and zero maintenance. The batteries feature
LiFeMgPO4 chemistry for safety, anti-loosening terminal threads
designed for high-vibration environments, an internal cell frame
for durability, and built-in electronic monitoring. They are available in both Group
24 and 27 sizes, and
come with full service
and support in the
U.S. and Europe, the
company says.
The second battery
module released in the
24XP series, the new
U-Charge U24-24XP
will be implemented in applications such as automated guided
vehicles (AGVs) and automated guided carts (AGCs), forklifts,
and robots. This 24V 56 Ah battery is a drop-in replacement for
Group 24 lead-acid batteries. In addition to all the 24XP benefits,
it fully integrates with the Valence U-Charge battery management system and can be put in series or parallel to create the
right voltage and capacity for the application. (Valence, www.
