Dock seal: Rite-Hite has developed the new Performer dock seal
to effectively seal gaps at loading dock doors and reduce trail-er-related wear and tear.
Rugged, friction-resistant Durathon fabric is featured throughout the Performer seal. It not only covers the vinyl base layer of
the pleat-free side-pad face (giving it a smooth, abrasion-reducing
surface), but it’s also used to provide full-height inside side-pad
reinforcement to protect against damage from forklifts and loads.
The Performer dock seal comes in two designs, a head-pad
model and a head-curtain model. The head-pad model is suitable
for standard over-the-road trailers and uses a distinctive pivoting
“backerless” header design to reduce damage from extreme
pressure and trailer movement as well as prevent head-pad pop-off. Its internal stabilizing panel helps prevent sagging of the
foam pad from repeated trailer impacts and bouncing.
The head-curtain model is designed for docks that receive
trailers of varying heights. It features a self-locking head-curtain
design to improve sealing at the trailer top, eliminating the need
for wind straps. It also incorporates an impactable header frame
to minimize damage from trailers that come in and impact too
high.
Both versions of the header use mini pleats to close gaps
caused by protrusions that are common on the backs of trailers.
The head pad and curtain both use Firefighter heat-dissipation
technology that prevents the seal from being burned by compressed trailer marker lights. This protects workers and facilities
from potential fire- and smoke-related hazards. (Rite-Hite, www.

Temperature data logger: To tackle the challenge of monitoring sensitive products throughout the cold chain, Oceasoft
has developed the Cobalt ML3. The Cobalt ML3 connected data
logger takes care of temperature traceability during shipment,
leveraging specialized long-range wireless technology.
The solution automatically collects temperature data recorded
by Cobalt ML3 modules and transfers the information to a secure
cloud platform via a network of receivers. According to the
company, with this solution, no human intervention is needed
to ensure continuous temperature monitoring across the entire
logistics chain.
Cobalt ML3 can also use the public network to upload geoloca-tion information about a container or vehicle. It’s designed to be
simple and secure, with a fast and intuitive setup. Temperature
readings are stored in the Cobalt ML3 module’s internal memory
as well as on the secure OCEACloud platform. A cloud application development interface is also available, enabling data to
be integrated with third-party information systems. In cases of
anomalies, such as out-of-bounds temperatures, alerts can be
sent 24/7 by e-mail, SMS/text message, or voice message via the
OCEAlert platform.
Cobalt ML3 is designed to keep upfront investment and maintenance costs down, using low-energy–consumption technologies, enabling battery life of up to one year. An external waterproof protective casing can be used for logistics and transport
applications requiring additional robustness. (Oceasoft, www.
