Robotic picker: Logistics solutions company
TGW has introduced the Rovolution robotic
picker for eaches. The labor-saving product
is available as an add-on module to the
company’s FlashPick piece-picking solution
and allows users to fully automate split-case
picking using a robot.
The picker consists of a robotic arm with
three suction cups at the end. The arm can
delicately pick items from totes coming from
TGW’s FlashPick shuttle system and transfer
them into outgoing totes headed to the loading dock. The arm is able to handle a wide
variety of hard and soft goods, anything from
a T-shirt to a box of drill bits.
Rovolution incorporates cognitive robotics
and machine learning, allowing it to adapt to
changes in business models and product mix.
Customers using the FlashPick system can
upgrade to Rovolution at any time due to its
modular concept and design.
Rovolution can pick 900 items per hour,
making it faster and more consistent than
a human order picker, the company says.

Shuttle system: Material handling solutions
specialist SSI Schaefer has expanded its portfolio of shuttles for small load carriers with
the introduction of its SSI Flexi Shuttle. The
single-level shuttle system features a storage
capacity of up to 110 pounds, thanks to an
adjustable-width load-handling device.
The system is easily adaptable for various
storage location sizes and can handle load
units measuring up to 33.85 inches long
by 26.77 inches wide. The system’s design
allows for installation at any position throughout a facility’s storage aisles and combines
automated storage, buffering, and sequencing in one system. (SSI Schaefer, www.

Pallet jack scale: Rice Lake Weighing
Systems’ RL-HPJ hand pallet jack scale weighs
and transports pallets in one streamlined process. Battery power keeps the weighing and
transport process moving, while the integrated digital indicator provides a clear weight
readout in any lighting condition.
Designed to be easy to use, the scale
features an ergonomic handlebar, built-in
rechargeable battery, backlit LCD display, and
reinforced forks. It can handle up to 5,000
pounds and is made from heavy-gauge steel
with a powder coat finish. The rechargeable
battery is mounted on the pallet jack and
offers 80 hours of continuous use or one
month of noncontinuous use. (Rice Lake

Trailer loading robots: Material handling systems integrator Bastian Solutions has
unveiled its newest mobile robotics solution: the Ultra mobile robots for truck trailer
loading and unloading.
Ultra robots are engineered for the narrow space and expansive reach of transport vehicles ranging from extended vans to intermodal containers. Bastian says
the robots offer high throughput, picking up to 20 cases per minute, and can be
integrated with a company’s existing warehouse management and warehouse control systems. The robots help reduce labor costs, are easy to install, and require no
battery, according to the company. (Bastian Solutions, www.bastiansolutions.com)
