Mobile computer: Honeywell’s newest CK65
mobile computer is designed to boost supply chain productivity by streamlining and
error-proofing work in distribution centers and
manufacturing environments. The mobile computer is suitable for applications across the logistics and manufacturing sectors, including receiving, putaway, cross docking,
parts/material/work-in-progress tracking, and inventory management.
The rugged mobile computer offers a comprehensive software ecosystem that includes
Honeywell’s voice-guided software, the Honeywell Operational
Intelligence analytics solution,
and a complete set of deployment
utilities that integrate with popular mobile-device management and
enterprise mobility management solutions.
With up to 28 hours of battery life, the CK65
maximizes uptime while providing an easy
path for users migrating from legacy Windows
operating systems to the Android platform, the
company says.
The CK65 is built on Honeywell’s Mobility
Edge platform, a unified hardware and software
architecture with an integrated software toolset
that extends asset life, accelerates deployment,
and simplifies the management of mobility
solutions. (Honeywell International Inc., www.

Flatbed truck safety barrier: A-Safe Inc., a
manufacturer of protective guarding for warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing
facilities, and other work environments, has
introduced TrailerKerb, a temporary barrier that
provides resistance when forklift trucks get close
to the edge of flatbed trailers during loading
and unloading operations at the dock. A-Safe
will offer TrailerKerb directly to end-users and to
the reseller/distributor marketplace upon its full
launch later this year.
TrailerKerb is made from A-Safe’s Memaplex
material, the company’s patented blend of eight
materials and rubber additives that’s designed
to absorb impact without incurring damage.
A single section of TrailerKerb weighs just 22
pounds and measures 5 feet, 10 inches in
length.
The barriers will be supplied in sets of 12,
with the option of a transport rack that can
carry all pieces securely via wheels or be lifted by
forklift. In a typical application, all 12 pieces will
be installed from aboard the trailer; then as the
load moves back, two pieces of the TrailerKerb
will be removed at a time. The process can be
repeated in reverse if a flatbed is to be unloaded
at a dock. (A-Safe Inc., www.asafe.com)
