Electric lift truck: Yale Materials Handling Corp. has launched the
new Yale ERP080-100VM electric-powered lift truck series in the
North American market. The lift truck is designed to handle high-lifting capacities and indoor and outdoor applications similarly to
an internal combustion engine (ICE), but without the emissions.
This sit-down, electric-powered, pneumatic-tire lift truck series
is available in 8,000-, 9,000-, and 10,000-pound models.
The ERP080-100VM comes with a standard 80-volt control
system and an extended-shift feature, which balances battery
run time and truck productivity. It also uses AC transistor control
technology, which allows the truck to precisely handle loads with
less noise. The AC motors eliminate brushes, therefore brush
service and maintenance is not required.
The new electric-powered lift truck series uses auto-deceleration, which reduces brake wear and extends brake life by automatically slowing the truck down through regenerative braking.
In addition, the trucks’ oil-cooled, wet disc brakes are completely sealed from water and other contaminants, reducing the
amount of service needed. The truck has fewer serviceable parts
than comparable ICE trucks and a 500-hour service interval.
When maintenance is required, removable floor and side plates
provide simplified access to serviceable components.
Featuring a “drop battery box” design, the new series provides
a low seat position and step height, allowing operators to enter
and exit the truck easily. In addition, a three-point entry design
of the operator compartment minimizes muscle and joint strain
during entry and exit. To further increase comfort, the steering
column is adjustable and can be ordered with an optional tilt-
memory function. (Yale Materials Handling, www.yale.com)
Spiral conveyor: Ryson has introduced its new 1900-260 High
Capacity Mass Flow Spiral
Conveyor. The 1900-260 model has
a 10-inch wide slat surface, which
allows the conveyor to save space. It
is suitable for operations that need a
conveyor that can fit into a tight space but do not require the high
throughput that 16-inch and 20-inch slats provide.
The conveyor has a one-inch drive chain that gives it a weight-handling capacity of 3,600 pounds. It is capable of up to 20 feet
of elevation change, depending on the incline/decline angle.
Ryson Mass Flow Spiral Conveyors are suitable for vertically
conveying bottles, cans, jars, and generally anything round that
needs to be conveyed in mass. (Ryson’s Vertical Conveying
