Electric lift truck: The new Hyster J80-100XN electric lift truck
series offers a tough, environmentally friendly option for applications that were traditionally powered by internal combustion
engines (ICE), such as lumber, stevedoring, heavy manufacturing,
and paper.
The brand-new lift truck
series being debuted in
North America is available
in 8,000-, 9,000-, and
10,000-pound models.
The J80-100XN electric
lift trucks are built to be
maneuverable and provide
maximum uptime in an
80-volt configuration. A
new, extended-shift feature helps balance battery and shift life by equalizing the trucks’
performance and battery usage. This standard feature allows
enhanced run times without requiring the lift truck to be
recharged over long periods of time, reducing downtime and
increasing efficiency.
The trucks use an advanced thermal management system to
continuously monitor critical truck functions and automatically
adjust performance modes. The system also guards against brake
degeneration by engaging an auto-deceleration system when the
accelerator is released. Wet disc brakes provide a longer life and
better stopping power than drum brakes while eliminating brake
“squeal” and the need for adjustments.
To improve operator comfort, minimize fatigue, and increase
uptime, the J80-100XN electric lift trucks feature enhanced operator controls, including a redesigned operator compartment,
improved brake pedal layout, and an adjustable steer column. The
new series also includes the VISTA mast, which provides fast lift
and lower speeds combined with superb visibility, greater control,
and increased speed and efficiency. (Hyster Co., www.hyster.com)
Tablet case: The MoGo Chimera from Mobelisk is a new tablet
“smart case” designed to transform 7- to 8-inch consumer tablets
into rugged mobile enterprise solutions.
The rugged Chimera case doubles the battery life of the tablet,
allowing it to last through a full day of use. Mobelisk offers an
additional hot-swappable “Power Booster Plus” end cap with a
removable battery that charges using an inductive charging mat.
This end cap allows the Chimera solution to be in use for an
extended period—even a full 24 hours if necessary.
The MoGo Chimera case is designed to withstand the shock,
moisture, and dust that the transportation and logistics industry
confronts daily. It meets Military Standard 810 (MIL-STD-810) as
well as Ingress Protection 54 (IP54) standards for shock, water, and
dust protection. The smart case also features hardware security,
and the device can be locked remotely using an outside software
platform.
Additionally, the Mobelisk Chimera offers many different end-cap options. These include one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) bar-code scanners, magnetic card readers, biometric ID
scanners, contactless payment systems, an RFID reader, chip and
PIN payment systems, and a receipt printer.
The MoGo Chimera will be shipping to customers in the third
quarter of 2013. (Mobelisk, www.mobelisktech.com)
