Cloud-based voice solution: Voxware, a
provider of voice solutions, has updated its
Cloud Voice Management Suite (VMS) for the
enterprise. Cloud Enterprise VMS enables
organizations of all sizes to migrate to a
cloud-based voice management system. In
addition, Voxware has now folded its complete VMS into the cloud-based version.
Voxware says the cloud-based approach
can be up and running more quickly than the
fastest full-fledged voice solution. It is available as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering. (Voxware, www.voxware.com)
Power unit for mobile workstation: The
new Power Swap System from Newcastle
Systems enables the company’s NB Series
Mobile Powered Workstations to operate 24
hours a day with no break for recharging.
Now, a unit with a depleted battery can be
swapped with a fully charged one in only 30
seconds. The spent unit is then recharged at a
standard wall outlet.
The system allows the workstations to run
computers, printers, scales, testers, bar-code
scanners, and other electronic hardware on
AC power. The Power Swap System is a good
solution for facilities with multiple work shifts
or applications that draw enough power to
shorten typical battery life, the company says.
The new power units are on swivel casters,
and their connectors mate easily with the
workstation’s ports. The power units are
housed in sealed, fully ventilated steel cabinets ( 16 by 16 by 12 inches) with built-in handles and cord holders. They include a UL- and
CSA-approved inverter/charger package and
a digital remote meter with a color-coded LED
display that provides battery status and an
audible low-voltage alert. The units are available with one battery (100 AH) or two (200
AH). The single-battery configuration will typically power a laptop/tablet computer and a
large printer for more than eight hours and
recharges in three to five hours. The dual-bat-tery configuration will typically power a desktop PC and a large printer for over eight hours
and recharges in eight to 10 hours. Run time
varies according to use. (Newcastle Systems,

Roll-up doors: TMI LLC’s 6000 Series roll-up door and screen line is designed to
keep insects, birds, and dust and other particles out of a facility. The new doors and
screens can be used to separate differing environments within and around a distribution center while also helping facilities meet AIB International Consolidated
Standards for Inspection for the food supply chain.
The 6000 Series units feature a higher-speed external jackshaft motor, which
allows the doors to be raised and lowered faster than previous TMI roll-up doors.
As a result, the doors can be used for a wider variety of applications. (TMI LLC,
