Logistics solutions for oil and gas industry:
Ryder System Inc. has introduced new transportation and logistics solutions for the oil
and gas industry, including customized dedicated fleets, transportation management, and
fleet leasing and rental services.
The Ryder Dedicated solution combines
company drivers, vehicles, maintenance, routing, scheduling, management, and administrative support. To complement that package,
Ryder also offers its transactional Flatbed
Carrier Service. This specialized service operates in major oil and gas lanes throughout
Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, helping to
ensure that materials can be moved into position quickly and without incident. Both Ryder
Dedicated and Flatbed Carrier services enable
customers to access Ryder’s fleet of vehicles
and 24-hour roadside assistance.
Ryder’s Transportation Management solution takes care of the planning, procurement,
execution, and management of transportation networks. As part of this offering, Ryder
arranges multimodal, domestic, and international transportation, including rate and service negotiation and contract management.
The company also handles the auditing, processing, and payment of freight bills.
Finally, Ryder provides Fleet Management
Solutions for the oil and gas business that
include: rugged vehicles available for lease or
rent with customized specifications designed
for the harsh environments of oil and gas
trucking; standardized preventive maintenance services performed at more than 800
service locations throughout the United
States and Canada; and mobile maintenance
services, including 24-hour roadside assistance. Fleet Management Solutions can also
relocate equipment around the company’s
national network of service facilities and provide short-term vehicle rental to handle peak

Storage cart: TiltView Stack Carts from Akro-Mils provide mobile storage for small parts
and supplies. The carts combine Akro-Mils’

Shrink wrap: Shrink-wrap supplier Dr. Shrink’s new Multimetal ICT Film defends
against corrosion damage on ferrous and nonferrous metals in typical shipping and
storage conditions. The new Multimetal ICT Film is a protective film containing
proven corrosion-inhibiting technology. It’s available in sheets measuring 20 feet by
100 feet and 4-mil (one-thousandth of an inch) thick.
The film is intended for installation as a base layer underneath Dr. Shrink’s shrink wrap.
This combination ensures a durable, weatherproof storage and transportation cover that
prevents corrosion, according to the company. If properly used, this nontoxic, recyclable
