Koenig technical sales manager - Mid-South region reporting to Yasmin
Sayed-Sweet, vice
president sales and
marketing. Koenig has
more than 15 years of
experience in the coatings industry including
roles in manufacturing, R&D and technical sales.

Valspar CFO to Retire
Valspar Corporation recently announced
the planned retirement of Lori A. Walker,
senior vice president and chief financial
officer. Walker joined Valspar in 2000
as assistant controller, was promoted to
vice president and controller in 2001, vice
president and treasurer in 2004, and has
been Valspar’s CFO since 2008. Walker
will remain with the company until a successor is named.
KeyBanc Capital Market
Names Head of Chemicals
Practice
KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. recently
announced the appointment of Mario
Toukan as head of the chemicals practice.
Prior to assuming this role, Toukan
spent 13 years as an M&A focused
banker and served as KeyBanc Capital
Markets’ advisory lead for chemicals over
the past several years. Prior to investment banking, he began his career with a
big four accounting firm. In his new role,
Toukan will be responsible for continuing
to build relationships with chemical companies globally and advising clients on
their corporate finance, M&A and other
capital market needs.
Archway Sales Announces
New Hires
Jim Connery has joined Archway Sales,
Inc. as a technical sales representative for
the Southern Region. Connery has more
than 25 years’ experience in chemical
sales. He will be responsible for growing
sales in Florida.
Kaley Bergkoetter has joined Archway
Sales as an accounting specialist at the
Saint Louis, Missouri office and will report to Ty Kramer.
Jeff Wolfe has joined Archway Sales
as a customer service representative
for the Chicago area and will report to
Tyler Comerio.
International Paint Appoints
Doering to Vice President
Protective Coatings
Business Development,
North America
International Paint LLC has appointed
Scott Doering to the newly created position of vice president Protective Coatings
business development, North America.
In this role, Doering will be responsible for developing the strategic sales and
growth initiatives related to the company’s International Paint, Devoe Coatings,
Ceilcote, Polibrid and Enviroline brand
linings products that currently serve the
oil and gas, industrial, water and waste-water market segments throughout the
U.S. and Canada.
Doering is a coatings industry veteran of more than 30 years and a NACE
Certified Coating Inspector #4134, having begun his career as the owner of a
retail paint store at age 20. He joined
International Paint in 2005 and served
as Protective Coatings regional manager
Central Region until 2009, when he was
promoted to vice president, Marine East
Coast, North America. Doering served in
that capacity until his recent appointment
to Protective Coatings.
Spettmann Named Head
of BASF’s Business Unit
for Pigments and Resins
Europe
Ralf Spettmann was appointed senior
vice president of the Pigments and Resins
Europe business unit of BASF. Previously,
he was senior vice president of the Fuel and
Lubricant Solutions unit. In his new function, he will be in charge of the product
families of pigments, resins and additives
for the coating, paint, printing and packaging industry. The Pigments and Resins
Europe unit is part of the Dispersions and
Pigments division of BASF.
Spettmann succeeds Jan-Peter Sander,
who has become head of the Personal
Care Europe unit.
H.B. Fuller Names New
Chief Technology and
Innovation Officer
H.B. Fuller Company has named Hassan
H. Rmaile chief technology and innovation officer. Rmaile comes to H.B. Fuller
from Ashland Incorporated, where he
most recently served as vice president
of R&D platforms in the company’s
Specialty Ingredients commercial unit.
He also recently co-led the integration of
the technology groups as part of the ISP
acquisition by Ashland. Prior to that, he
served in roles of increasing responsibility,
including global business director of regulated industries (Pharmaceuticals, Food
and Personal Care) and global industry
manager, Pharmaceuticals, at Ashland
Aqualon Functional Ingredients. Hassan
joined Ashland as part of the Hercules
Incorporated acquisition in 2008.

Management Team For U.S.
Protective Coatings Centers
Following the recent launch of
International Paint branded Protective
Coatings Centers throughout the U.S.
and Canada, International Paint LLC
has named the management team responsible for overseeing U.S. operations. Gary
Ferguson has been named vice president
distributor sales and store operations,
