LIQUID NAILS Brand
Launches Vocational
Training Program
The LIQUID NAILS brand has initiated
a vocational training program to enhance
educational opportunities for future contractors as they learn the ins and outs of
the construction industry.
As part of the program, Liquid Nails
brand representatives visit vocational career centers across the U.S. to work with
students and conduct hands-on training
demonstrations. The goal is to help students understand the differences between
various types of adhesives and the importance of ensuring adhesives are used
when bonding materials.
Liquid Nails brand representatives
work with students to review technical
materials and provide a thorough overview of multiple types of construction
adhesives and their uses. To help ensure
the information has a lasting impact, students build their own take-home demonstrations for later use as a reference.
“The Liquid Nails brand has been
trusted by professionals and do-it-your-
selfers like for more than 45 years,” said
Mark Hembree, senior brand manager.
“This vocational program is designed to
educate aspiring craftsmen so they can
become more knowledgeable and confi-
dent as they enter the workforce.”
Todd Mason, instructor at Medina
County Career Center in Ohio, where the
program was piloted, said, “The Liquid
Nails training program gave my students
a chance to learn some technical aspects
of the different Liquid Nails products. It
also offered an opportunity for students
to practice practical applications in the
lab, where we’re mimicking real-world
uses of the products.”
The Liquid Nails brand began its out-
reach to vocational students years ago
with participation at the SKILLSUSA
National Leadership and Skills
Conference, where more than 6,000 ca-
reer and technical education students
compete within their trades.
This year at the SkillsUSA conference,
the Liquid Nails brand provided detailed
curriculum materials for educators to use
in classrooms. Educators who would like
to request access to these materials can
send a message with the subject “Liquid
Nails Brand Vocational Materials” to liq-uidnails@ppg.com. CW
