Dymax Corporation has introduced
the new SG-200 Super-Flow Spray Gun
System, designed for masking and coating
applications where significantly higher flow
rates are required. With achievable flow
rates of 2.5 – 20 oz. per minute, the system
was designed to help operators maximize
productivity in high-volume and large-part
masking and coating applications. It’s ideal
for dispensing fluids with viscosities between 5,000 cP and 80,000 cP.
The SG-200 utilizes a normally closed,
stainless steel needle valve to control fluid
flow and a dual-acting air cylinder to provide immediate start/stop functionality.
The system’s dual-port atomizing nozzle
design ensures symmetrical delivery of materials across a wide range of viscosities.
Typical spray applications include masking turbines, metal substrates, and medical implants prior to surface treatment,
coating large parts with grease or other
lubrication before assembly, and spraying
solvents for cleaning part surfaces.
Freeman Technology
Releases Industry Guide
Freeman Technology has published
“Choosing a powder tester,” the second
in a series of educational guides on powder characterization for industrial applications. The new guide provides guidance
on the range of techniques available for
powder characterization. Both booklets
are now available to download for free
from the new Freeman Technology website at www.freemantech.co.uk/_ebook/.
The new guide addresses questions
facing powder processors looking to in-
vest in powder testing instrumentation,
including: what powder testing tech-
niques are available, what powder han-
dlers should look for in a testing method
and what features make powders more or
less suitable for industrial applications?
The guide also explores the relevance
of the data generated by each technique
and highlights the value of multifac-
eted testing to completely understand a
powder’s performance in process and fi-
nal application.
Q-LAB Offers Contract
Testing Services for
Automotive Corrosion Tests
Q-Lab Corporation’s laboratories in
Homestead, Florida and Saarbrücken,
Germany offer contract testing services for
automotive corrosion tests requiring relative
humidity control. These tests include GMW
14872, SAE J2334, and many others from
Ford, ISO, GB/T, VW, Volvo, Chrysler, and
Renault.
Q-Lab previously released its new
Q-FOG CRH cyclic corrosion tester,
which allows for the control of relative
humidity during test cycles. Q-FOG CRH
corrosion testers can perform traditional
salt spray and Prohesion and meet most
major international and automotive corrosion test standards.
Now, this capability has been added to
Q-Lab Florida and Q-Lab Deutschland as
part of their fully-equipped, ISO 17025
accredited contract testing laboratories.
The labs provide expert, cost-effective
accelerated testing services to customers
throughout the world.
Ross Hydropneumatic Tanks
and Pressure Vessels
Ross Hydropneumatic Tanks and
Pressure Vessels are built in any capacity up to 100,000 gallons, with working
pressures from 50 to 200 psig, for indoor
or outdoor installation. Available in carbon steel, 316 and 304 stainless steel,
Monel, Hastelloy, titanium, Inconel and
aluminum, Ross Hydropneumatic Tanks
and Pressure Vessels serve a wide range of
uses and applications.
Among its offerings is a 5,000-gallon
carbon steel tank designed, fabricated
and stamped for 100 psig in accordance
with ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 lat-
est edition. The interior is lined with an
American Water Works Association
(AWWA)-approved lining for potable
water, while the exterior is primed with
epoxy. Flanged and threaded nozzles are
provided, as well as an elliptical manway.
Ross can meet most industry code requirements aside from ASME including
USFDA, BISSC, ABS, API650, API620 and
UL42. The company has extensive experience in building fabricated vessels for bulk
solids storage, stirred reactors, sanitary
mix tanks, compounding vessels, vacuum
pots, gas surge tanks, cyclones, large diameter pipes, columns and tank farms.
Troy Corporation Introduces
New Powder Defoamer for
Dry Blend Products
Troykyd D121, an advanced powder defoamer specifically engineered for dry
blend products, is now available from Troy
Corporation. Troykyd D121 is a highly efficient, silicone-free powder defoamer for
use in cement-based, gypsum-based, and
various other dry mix systems. Troykyd
D121 promotes excellent air release, which
enhances the strength and workability of
construction products such as grout, stucco, mortar, joint compounds and adhesives.
Additionally, the new advanced defoamer
is acid-free and stable in high pH mixtures.
As with other Troy Performance Additives,
Troykyd D121 offers effectiveness at low
use levels, which translates into cost savings
for manufacturers.
“In addition to the product’s de-
foaming performance, Troykyd D121
offers ease-of-use benefits,” said Izzy
Colon, vice president/general manager of
Performance Additives. “First, the prod-
uct is a free-flowing powder, so the de-
foamer can be used with automated dry
bulk handling equipment. Second, the
fine particle size of D121 enhances dis-
persibility for greater ease of incorpora-
tion. Third, the defoamer is a high bulk
density product, so more of the material
can be stored in limited space.”
The result is a defoamer that offers
formulators performance, compatibility,
and cost-in-use advantages. CW
