Before joining BASF in 2011,
Toomey worked for Cognis, where he
was vice president and general manager of Functional Products and vice
president of Human Resources and
Communications.
BASF Names Podesta
Senior Vice President for
Dispersions & Pigments
Business in North America
BASF has appointed Gerry Podesta se-
nior vice president for the Dispersions
& Pigments business in North America.
Podesta succeeds Derek Fairclough, who
will lead BASF’s Environmental, Health,
Safety & Security organization.
Most recently, Podesta served as
the senior vice president for BASF’s
Performance Materials business in North
America since July 1, 2009. He served in
a prior role as group vice president for
the Performance Chemicals business of
BASF between 2003 and 2009.
Podesta joined BASF in 2003, after 20
years with General Electric, where he was
vice president and general manager, GE
Plastics Americas.
Maroon Group Announces
New CFO
Maroon Group has announced the ad-
dition of Brian Wilson as chief finan-
cial officer. Wilson brings to Maroon
financial expertise with multi-billion
dollar Fortune 500 and private-equity
owned companies.
Prior to joining Maroon Group,
Wilson held the position of treasurer
and director of Financial Reporting at
The Kenan Advantage Group (formerly
DistTech, Inc.), a private-equity owned
bulk transportation and logistics provider with $1.5 billion in sales.
Christoph Schlünken joins
ALTANA Management
Board
Specialty chemicals company ALTANA is
increasing its Management Board.
Dr. Christoph Schlünken, president of
the BYK Additives & Instruments division, will be an additional member. In his
new capacity, Schlünken will primarily be
in charge of the BYK and ECKART Effect
Pigments divisions, while chief financial
officer Martin Babilas will assume responsibility for the ACTEGA Coatings
& Sealants and ELANTAS Electrical
Insulation divisions.
Chief executive officer, Dr. Matthias
L. Wolfgruber, will continue to oversee core functions such as Corporate
Development, Corporate Innovation, and
Corporate HR.
“The expansion of ALTANA’s
Management Board accommodates the
increasing size of our company,” said
Wolfgruber. “I am very happy about
the addition of Dr. Schlünken, who has
helped boost ALTANA’s growth in differ-
ent areas, most recently with the integra-
tion of Rockwood’s rheology business
into BYK.”
Schlünken joined the ALTANA
Group in 2001 as the managing direc-
tor of ELANTAS GmbH, after holding
various sales and marketing positions
at Bakelite AG starting in 1994. In
2005, Schlünken became president of
the ECKART Effect Pigments division.
Within the framework of the rotation of
all four division presidents, Schlünken
became president of BYK Additives &
Instruments in November 2012. He will
continue to head this division until a
successor is found.
Changes in BASF’s
Executive Board of
Directors
The Supervisory Board of BASF SE has
appointed Sanjeev
Gandhi to the
Board of Executive
Directors effective December 1,
2014. He has been
head of BASF’s
Intermediates division since 2010.
After 12 years
on the Board
of Executive Directors, Dr. Andreas
Kreimeyer will retire with the expiration of his contract following the
Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on April
30, 2015. He has been on the Board
since 2003 and Research Executive
Director since 2012. Dr. Martin
Brudermüller vice chairman of the
Board of Executive Directors, will take
over this role following the Annual
Shareholders’ Meeting.
Management Restructuring
at AW-Lake Company
Flow instrumentation manufacturer,
AW-Lake Company has reshaped its
management team in response to grow-
ing business needs. Mark Iverson has
been promoted to general manager
of the company, reporting to Flow
Division president, John McKenna. In
his new role, Iverson will be responsible
for increasing market share and leading
the future direction of the company.

within the last quarter are: Colby
Lemmons, director of sales and Robert
Cobb, business development manager,
