Workspace Products has implemented an immediate design
change to its 8000 Series shelving
backs, replacing the original vertical
back panels with horizontal back
panels. The horizontal back panels
provide easier handling and installation compared with the long vertical panels, which were difficult to hold in
place while installing the backing screws.
The new horizontal back panels are as strong
as the original vertical panels, the company
says. The overall load capacities remain the
same—600 to 1,300 pounds—using 22 gauge
to 18 gauge steel. The new horizontal backs

(MPM) from Aker Wade Power Technologies is
a fleet energy and battery management system
that gives industrial truck fleet managers a picture of vehicle energy usage and battery performance. MPM, which can be installed for
about $50 per battery, captures detailed information on energy usage, which is then
uploaded to a fleet manager’s PC using
Bluetooth technology. Looking at power measurements can help managers determine how
hard each truck has worked. The information
provided can be used to ensure batteries are
properly charged, watered, and equalized in
order to obtain maximum battery life.
MPM is compatible with all industrial electric
vehicle fleets, including those utilizing fast or
opportunity charging. The system offers over a
dozen predefined reports for fleet managers.
