; MIC Customs Solutions has added new support and
senior project management positions in its North
American operations. William Arango, former leader of
Global Trade Systems at GM, has been hired as the director of operations - Americas and Asia Pacific. Arango has
20 years of experience in all aspects of trade management systems. In addition, Jason O’Brien has been hired
as director of sales and marketing for the Americas and
Asia Pacific. He brings over 10 years of experience working in sales and marketing within the trade automation
space to his new position.
; Velocity Express has appointed John McAlpin president and COO. Since 2004, McAlpin has served as the
head of operations for Velocity customer Newgistics Inc.,
a provider of USPS-based small parcel delivery and return
delivery package services.
; Performance Team (PT) has promoted Cliff Katab to
president. Katab has been with PT for 16 years, the past
two as acting COO. Under Katab’s leadership, PT saw the
best performance and sales year in its history in 2009.
; Fortna has hired Kevin Mitchell as vice president, integrated delivery services. Mitchell brings over 22 years of
consulting experience at Accenture and Garr Consulting
Group in supply chain strategy, solutions development,
and process optimization to his new position. He was a
leader in Accenture’s fulfillment practice area with a specific focus on warehousing and distribution operations.
; Saddle Creek Corp., a third-party logistics service company, has appointed Brad Rolland as its new director of
business development. In his new role, Rolland will oversee the development of new customer relationships and
maintain growth within existing accounts. Rolland has a
strong background in transportation, having most recently served as business development director for J.B. Hunt
Transport Services Inc.
; TZA, a supply chain consulting firm, has hired Michael
Shipley as senior operations consultant. Shipley, who
brings over 25 years of experience to TZA, most recently
served as operations/distribution center manager for
Fairrington Transportation.
