; Excellent picks. Dematic
Corp., a supplier of logistics systems for the factory, warehouse,
and distribution center, has
implemented a new order fulfillment system for Australian nutritional supplements company
Blackmores. The system incorporates pick-to-light, voice, and RF picking systems to provide high-productivity order fulfillment of fast-moving full-case and split-case SKUs. The entire order fulfillment system is powered by a single software platform called
PickDirector.
Dematic has also engineered and launched a new
order fulfillment system for Scandinavia’s leading electronics retailer, Elgiganten. The voice-based system has
enabled the retailer’s central distribution center to
achieve close to 100 percent pick accuracy and meet
increasingly rigorous demands for picking efficiency and
quality.
; Sorting things out. Viastore systems, an automated
material handling solutions provider, has partnered with
Grifols Engineering to design, manufacture, and install an
automated plasma sorting sample system in San Marcos,
Texas. Grifols, whose plasma is stored at temperatures
below - 30 degrees Fahrenheit, chose viastore for its experience with fully integrated material handling systems in
low temperatures.
; Wise move. Yusen Air & Sea Service has selected
CargoWise’s ediEnterprise system as its global enterprise
solution. The system, which is designed to improve process
management and operational efficiency, will help support
Yusen with its future global business strategies.
; Asian alliance. Ryder System Inc. has entered into a
joint venture partnership with Cargo Services Far East Ltd.
(CSFE), an Asia-based logistics solutions provider specializing in export consolidation services. Operating as Ryder
Supply Chain Solutions Asia, the venture will offer a comprehensive, end-to-end service with full geographic coverage throughout Asia for North American retailers and
other companies importing from Asia.
; A key partner. Kewill, a developer of global trade and
logistics solutions, has announced that Swiss Colony has
gone live with Kewill Flagship 4.0. Swiss Colony selected
Kewill Flagship in order to leverage broader carrier
options and higher scalability in support of its continued
growth and product-line expansion.
