ESET33 pallet mover: Mobile Industries announces a new addition to its line of ergonomic semi-electric pallet trucks. The ESET33
is a low-cost and versatile alternative to fully powered pallet trucks.
It easily handles loads of up to 3,300 pounds and makes moving
pallets and skids easy with its electric battery-powered drive system for forward and reverse operation. The unit achieves speeds
of 2. 8 mph fully loaded and 3 mph when unloaded. When the
throttle is released, the unit brakes automatically.
The ESET33’s on-board 24-volt battery pack and charger can
operate for a standard 8-hour shift or more, and charging is easily
accomplished overnight via any 110-volt outlet. Fork options
include 48-inch fork length with 20.5- and 27-inch fork widths
available to accommodate a variety of pallets and skids.
The manual pump is operated via an ergonomic
control handle that is cushioned for all-day comfort
and raises the load to full height with only five cycles.
Handle controls include forward and reverse buttons
with a “deadman” feature to stop unwanted reverse
movement in confined spaces. The 180-degree
steering pivot feature
allows use in con-
fined areas, in nar-
row aisles, and on
trucks and trailers, making
the ESET33 suitable for on-the-
road use. (Mobile Industries Inc.,

Narrow-aisle reach truck: Crown
Equipment Corp. has added a narrower chassis truck to its Crown RM
6000 Series of narrow-aisle reach
trucks with the MonoLift mast. The
new model has a 42-inch-wide chassis and can reach 400 inches while
delivering up to 1,000 pounds more
capacity at full height. The RM Series
is designed with a boxed-in cross-section mast to reduce twisting and flexing associated with dual, upright
conventional masts.
Visibility is a key feature on the
Crown RM 6000 model. The
MonoLift mast is offset seven inches
to the left of the operator, allowing
maximum visibility at height, eye, and
ground levels. In addition to increasing visibility, the Crown MonoLift
mast reduces cylinder damage when
working in tunnels, conveyors, and
drive-in rack applications. The RM
6000 mast design uses one fewer
cylinder than conventional mast trucks and protects the cylinders
by locating them near the center of the truck. This minimizes
contact with racking by more than 50 percent.
The Crown RM 6000 Series also offers Vision System options to
help operators increase precision and productivity at height. The
Vision System includes the Laser Fork Guide option and a camera
option. The Laser Fork Guide mounts on the fork carriage, projecting a red laser line at the fork level, which allows operators to
easily guide the forks into the pallet. For an elevated view of the
pallet location, Crown’s camera with color monitor aids operators
with pallet placement and rack identification at height.
The RM 6000 Series features a reach sense technology that
provides a soft start and stop when using the pantograph reach
mechanism, standard AC motors, regenerative brakes and lowering system, and electronic steering. (Crown Equipment Corp.,

Container refrigeration: Daikin Reefer has unveiled new container refrigeration technology that meets carrier and shipper
demands for low energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, while providing precise cooling performance for chilled and
frozen cargoes. The new LX10F container refrigeration unit, to be
marketed under the brand name Zestia, uses Daikin’s patented
DC inverter scroll compressor technology to deliver energy savings
of approximately 45 percent compared with other units.
Traditional single-speed compressors can only deliver a fixed
amount of cooling and heat and have to operate on a “
stop-start” principle to maintain a set temperature. By contrast,
inverter compressors run at variable speeds, allowing cooling
capacity to be adjusted according to cargo needs, ambient conditions, and how the refrigeration unit is being used. This provides a more flexible, energy-efficient, and accurate way of dealing with the extremes of perishable cargo transport.
Zestia also incorporates advanced control features to further
improve ease of operation. (Daikin, www.daikinreefer.com)
