So, back to how you can be more efficient in your space. The key is to maximize the space you have
available by making it work more effectively for you. Most DC’s have areas within them that are out of
sight and therefore out of mind. All too often you will find unsecure and unsafe areas that are simply
forgotten or not even considered unsecure. There are many areas in these facilities around the globe
that need to be secured from theft both internally and externally. By limiting access to restricted areas
and securing areas that contain valuable inventory you can gain an edge against inventory loss and
improve your control by taking heed of a few simple measures.
1. Secure the area(s) with lockable wire partition inventory cages, driver cages
2. Optimize the space with mezzanines, pallet racks, etc.
3. Ensure safety measures are applied by adding Guard Railing, palette rack backing (RackBack™)
