Hybrid pallets: Green Pallets Inc. has launched a new line of Hybrid (plastic and
wood) Pallets. The Hybrid Series is a new development in pallet technology, according to Green Pallets. Over six patents have been used to construct this new type
of pallet.
Made up of hardened heavy-duty plastic and wood, the Hybrid Series of
pallets offers the toughness and durability of plastic combined with the rigidity
and strength of wood. The Hybrid Pallet exceeds current standards with rack-ca-pable capacity rated at up to 4,545 kg or 10,000 pounds. (Green Pallets, www.

Temperature recorder: The new DeltaTrak
Single Use In-Transit Temperature Recorders,
16000 series models, are available in 5-day to
90-day transit periods. The recorder generates a permanent record of transit conditions
on a 36-inch strip chart. The in-transit recorders can be used to document the environmental temperature conditions encountered
during storage and transportation of food,
pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and other temperature-sensitive commodities.
This recorder is specially engineered with
a lighter, but durable, vented case for better air circulation and accurate temperature
responses. The new unit includes streamlined
documentation and an improved pull-tab
design to make the recorder easier to start. Its
viewport allows the operator to visually confirm activation after the startup tab has been
pulled. Serial numbers on every unit provide

RFID reader: Motorola Solutions Inc.’s new
RFD5500 UHF RFID sled can instantly turn the
company’s MC55N0, MC55A0, MC65, and
MC67 mobile computers into lightweight,
rugged handheld RFID readers that deliver
fast read rates.
The RFD5500 helps mobile workers locate
products, read nonline-of-sight RFID data,
and capture damaged and poor-quality bar
codes without interrupting workflows. The
RFD5500 offers a combination of intuitive
audible and visual cues to quickly guide a
worker to the precise location of a desired
item. As the device moves closer to a specific
item, a tone beeps louder and faster, while a
sliding graphical bar increases in size.
The easy-grip RFD5500 sled uses Motorola’s
UHF RFID technology, which provides superior
read range and coverage area, according to
the company. There is no need to precisely
