Control system for lift trucks: Yale
Material Handling Corp. has introduced its iSi
Technology, a common control system integrated across all of Yale’s warehouse lift truck
products. The company explains that the
technology offers a common onboard display
panel, allowing easy adjustments and access
to diagnostics. The technology includes both
a standard and an extended-shift functionality. That allows operators to balance battery
run time and truck productivity.
The control system has four operator performance modes. The performance settings
are adjustable, allowing users to tailor the
equipment to operator or application needs.
The new Yale iSi Technology is capable of
integrating with the Yale Vision wireless asset
management system.
The common control system provides ease
of use across a wide variety of models, resulting in more efficient operations, according
to Yale. For example, a warehouse lift truck
operator who operates a Yale reach truck will
also feel right at home using one of Yale’s
order selector models. Technicians will see
the same benefit in a common interface for
service needs. (Yale Material Handling Corp.,

Labeling system: The new end-of-the-line
labeling system from Videojet Technologies,
Videojet 9550 Motion-Control System, combines automatic precise control of the entire
system with direct-apply label placement.
Videojet designed the new system with an
eye toward removing the mechanisms that
frequently cause everyday operational problems, such as label jams and routine manual
adjustments.
According to Videojet, the 9550 with Direct
Apply places the label onto the pack without
the need for a tamp or air blast applicator,
achieving throughput of up to 150 packs per
minute for typical 4- by 6-inch GS1 bar-code
labels.
The labeler also uses intelligent motion
technology to feed and place labels accurately without the use of manual adjustments,
clutches, or nip rollers. As a result, it controls
the entire label path and maintains web
tension from start to finish, regardless of the
speed of operation or the size of the label.
The intelligent motion technology ensures a
precise ribbon feed and printhead control.
This improves the applicator’s print quality
and performance, the company says. Because
the 9550 uses a “clutchless” ribbon drive, it
reduces ribbon waste and improves printhead
life. (Videojet Technologies, www.videojet.
