MATERIAL HANDLING SOLUTIONS
Lift truck fleet management:
Greenville, N.C.-based Hyster
Co. has introduced a telemetry mobile app for lift trucks
designed to help improve fleet
productivity. The Hyster Tracker
mobile app works as a companion to the company’s Hyster
Tracker desktop portal, bringing
data-driven insights and management functionality to the
warehouse floor via smartphone.
The Hyster Tracker mobile app
provides near real-time fleet utili-
zation metrics and notifies oper-
ators when impacts or errors on
pre-shift safety checklists occur,
the company says. Smart dashboards make
large data sets and information more man-
ageable via smartphones, eliminating the
need to get to a laptop or workstation for
critical information and site analysis.
Add-on features include the Hyster Populate
Service, a data integration service that com-
bines information from Hyster Tracker and
customer warehouse management systems,
and Hyster Load Sensing, which can help
enhance KPIs (key performance indicators) for
loaded and unloaded trucks, as well as notify
operators of possible capacity overloads.
The mobile app is compatible with both
Android and iOS devices, and comes at no
additional charge to Hyster Tracker users.
Customers can download the app from the
App Store or from Google Play. (Hyster Co.,

RFID antennas: Feig Electronics, a supplier of
RFID (radio-frequency identification) readers
and antennas, has introduced its robust UHF
RFID antennas. The company says the UHF
antenna is ideal for any outdoor or industrial
application where harsh, demanding conditions exist, such as gated access control,
perimeter protection, vehicle mounting on
waste collection trucks or industrial forklifts,
and container tracking in ports.
The antenna uses a “VESA” mounting pattern, a flexible, widely accepted, and durable
mounting technique to attach the device
to a wide variety of surfaces with ease, and
is available in a standard 65- by 65-degree
beam angle for a wide area of coverage or
a 65- by 30-degree focused beam angle for
longer reading distances.
The UHF antenna will withstand continuous
exposure to below-freezing temperatures as
well as the extreme summer heat of a desert
climate, the company says. (Feig Electronics,

LTL freight-matching service: GoShip.com, an online less-than-truckload shipping
exchange, has expanded its shipping services to and from Canada. This expansion
follows the addition of new features to GoShip.com’s online shipping platform,
including user profiles that include shipment tracking capabilities.
For shipments to and from Canada, customers are able to use their own customs
broker or use the self-service customs broker offered by GoShip.com. The company
provides customers with documents and a customs invoice to help make Canadian
shipping hassle-free. (GoShip, goship.com)
