Portable cooling containers: Coldtainer USA, a maker of
portable containers that can be used for temperature control
in any transportation application, has introduced its standalone
Coldtainers. According to the company, Coldtainers don’t require
insulated vans or trucks, reducing fleet owners’ capital costs and
improving resale values because non-converted units appeal to a
wider range of used-vehicle buyers.
Available in front-opening or top-loading models in a range
of capacities and with numerous cooling, freezing, and heating
options, Coldtainers can use battery, shore, and solar power
sources on vehicles and at facilities to operate on AC (alternating
current) or DC (direct current) power. Equipped with refrigeration
units designed to withstand vibrations related to vehicle use, the
standalone containers are made from durable molded polyethylene and food-grade materials, are easy to clean, and are in compliance with health and safety standards, the manufacturer says.
All Coldtainer temperature-controlled container models feature
an integrated battery monitor and a user-friendly digital display
to view temperature and status, and for precise temperature
set-point control. The portable cooling containers also record
temperatures and have a mobile Bluetooth capability for downloading data for recordkeeping purposes. (Coldtainer USA, www.

Voice management: Voice and analytic supply chain solutions
provider Voxware has introduced the newest version of its cloud-based voice management suite. Voxware Voice Management Suite
(VMS) 2019 features a new workflow to support containerization
as well as an upgraded technology environment that includes support for Java 11. The new version also includes improved offline
capabilities that allow workers to move throughout the warehouse without worrying about network connectivity, improving
picker productivity. (Voxware, www.voxware.com)
Semiautomated pallet shuttle: Structural-steel storage systems
manufacturer Frazier Industrial Co. has introduced its latest innovation—the Pallet Mole. This high-density semiautomated system
runs underneath the pallet loads on rails, delivering and extracting
pallets within a deep-lane rack system. It has the ability to move
up to 50 pallets per hour, which allows companies to reduce the
time it takes to load or unload a truck by more than 50 percent,
the company says.
Using an RF (radio-frequency) controller or Wi-Fi device, the
operator can instruct the electromechanical platform to lift, lower,
or shuttle pallets to the desired position or program the system
to run various predetermined functions. The Pallet Mole is ideal
for high-volume, low-stock-keeping-unit (SKU) operations; freezer
and cooler facilities; food processing and beverage distribution;
production staging areas; and deep-lane systems, the manufacturer says.
The Pallet Mole features magnetic latches on its bottom. When
a lift truck operator moves the unit at any height from one position in the system to the next, the magnetic latches secure the
Pallet Mole to the forklift jacks so the unit will not dislodge. The
company also added a flat-deck lifting mechanism to the unit. To
ensure that lift performance is not dependent on bottom board
strength, the deck lid as a whole will pick up the load so that center stringers or blocks on pallets directly transfer the lifting force to
the entire pallet. (Frazier Industrial Co., www.frazier.com)
