increase load averages by 10 to 30 percent, the
company says.
According to the manufacturer, the new
AutoDeck system allows for safer and more
efficient loading. Built with regard for operator
safety, the easy-to-use automation features will
lead to a higher utilization of decking systems,
reducing time to load and improving safety for
the logistics staff. (Ancra Cargo, www.ancra-cargo.com)
Cloud-based monitoring device: SpotSee, an
Internet of Things end-to-end solution provider
that enables customers to spot damage in their
operations and see it in real time, has added
temperature-threshold monitoring capabilities to its SpotBot Cellular impact-monitoring
device.
With this additional information accessible
anywhere through the SpotSee Cloud, users
are able to ensure that temperature-sensitive
items, such as food and beverage products,
are not exposed to conditions that compromise
quality, the company says.
SpotBot is a real-time damage-monitoring
solution that helps quality, plant, and supply
chain managers as well as forwarders and
truckers easily see where and when impacts or
temperature deviations occur and the potential
severity of the damage. This allows possibly
damaged shipments to be stopped and properly addressed before delivery. (SpotSee, www.

Next-gen industrial batteries: Industrial battery company EnerSys has expanded its NexSys
battery line with the introduction of two
new models: the NexSys iON and the NexSys
Pure. The NexSys iON is a lithium-ion battery
and offers the benefits typical of such batteries, including smaller size, virtually main-tenance-free performance, and longer life.
NexSys Pure batteries feature EnerSys’ TPPL
(thin plate pure lead) battery technology, which
does not require the watering, equalizing, and
battery changing necessary for conventional
lead-acid batteries. In this way, TPPL technology provides some of the benefits of lithium-ion
batteries but at a lower cost.
The company is also developing what it
calls “wireless charging,” where instead of
having to plug a battery into a charger, the lift
truck operator can drive over a charging pad
on the floor to charge the truck. According
to the company, future applications of this
technology might include placing these pads
down the aisles of a warehouse so that the battery charges as it discharges. (EnerSys, www.

Rack netting: Adrian’s Safety Solutions has launched its
“Modular Pallet Rack Safety Netting.” The latest addition to the company’s pallet rack safety line, the new
safety netting is designed for walkway and work-area
product-fall protection. The modular design allows for
overlapping or tiling, so any space can be easily protected right out of the box.
The new modular safety netting keeps loose items or
cartons from falling into a workspace or aisleway. Like
all of the company’s pallet rack safety products, the netting is designed to be installed quickly and easily without
retrofitting, tools, or long periods of downtime.
This new industrial netting will be manufactured
with the same premium hardware connectors that Adrian’s uses in its existing
no-tools-needed products, including the “Rack Safety Strap” and “Rack Safety
Net.” Optional carabiner hardware assemblies are available for even more protection, depending on the application. (Adrian’s Safety Solutions, www.adrianssafe-tysolutions.com)
Automated decking system: Ancra Cargo, a maker of cargo handling and
restraint systems, has introduced AutoDeck, an automated integrated decking
system that allows loading dock staff and drivers to automate the height of each
beam at the push of a button for customized decking solutions.
Prior to the introduction of manual decking systems decades ago, the space
available in trailers was either not fully utilized or pallets were stacked on top of
each other, potentially damaging cargo. Ancra Cargo decking systems allow for
better freight shipping efficiency, reduce losses resulting from cargo damage, and
