Rohm and Haas to build plant in Vietnam
Rohm and Haas Company has
announced plans to build an acrylic
emulsion facility in Nhon Trach city,
within the Dong Nai province of
Vietnam. The company will spend
approximately $10 million for this
facility, which will serve the needs of
the paint and coatings market.
Scheduled to be completed by the middle of 2009, the new plant will join a
network of 12 plants across the Asia-Pacific region, part of a system of 34
plants worldwide.
“This is a great investment for Rohm
and Haas, one that has significant
strategic benefits,” said Bruce
Hoechner, vice president and Asia-Pacific regional director for the $2 billion paints and coatings materials

LANXESS IMPROVES TEXAS
MANUFACTURING PLANT
Lanxess Corp. has enacted a number of
initiatives to improve waste and energy conservation at its Orange, TX manufacturing plant. One initiative is to
recycle solvent from two different
waste streams at the Orange plant.
The waste will be shipped to a company that will distill, separate and use
the materials as an additive for indus-trial-grade gasoline and diesel. The
project, scheduled to begin this summer, has the potential to reduce waste

CPS COLOR OPENS
NEW U.S. FACILITY
CPS Color Equipment has opened a
new center in Concord, NC. Called
America’s Center, the 36,000 sq. ft.
facility has the capacity to produce
more than 4,000 dispensers and shakers per year. The center includes 42
permanent staff members and 22 contractors working in sales, marketing,
administration, service and production. It has been designed to allow for
future expansion as the business develops. CPS Color manufactures automatic tinting dispensers, related software,
along with mixing equipment and color
merchandising collateral.
