NANOSTEEL LAUNCHES SHS 8000 The NanoSteel Company has introduced a new Super Hard Steel alloy, SHS 8000, for coating solutions in the power generation industry that improves reliability and availability, and increases the lifetime of pressure parts. SHS 8000 is a cored wire solution for twin wire arc thermal spraying designed for elevated temperature environments of pulverized coal and fluidized bed boilers. SHS 8000 features an ultra-refined crystalline microstructure, up to a thousand times finer than existing solutions, resulting in corrosion, erosion and wear resistance, a high hardness/toughness combination and high bond strength without the necessity of a bond coat.

Sherwin-Williams Protective and Marine Coatings has introduced Waterbased Acrolon 100, an acrylic polyurethane that is environmentally friendly. The coating is within the Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) guidelines with a VOC level <100 g/L and is Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAPS) free.

Waterbased Acrolon 100 is ideal for steel tank exteriors, structural steel, rail cars, paper mills, power plants, bridges, conveyors, refineries, nuclear power facilities, marine applications, chemical processing equipment, and industrial machinery and equipment.
