AkzoNobel appoints Schoehijs CIO
Pieter Schoehuijs has been appointed
AkzoNobel’s new chief information officer
(CIO). Schoehuijs joined the company
from Church and Dwight Corp. in New
Jersey in the U.S., where he held the position of vice president and CIO. Prior to
this position, he was the global IT director
at BASF Catalyst, formerly Engelhard.
He succeeds Gerard Helmink, who has
held various positions across information
technology within the company for more
than 40 years.
UNIVAR NAMES HENDERSON
COUNTRY LEADER
Univar, a chemical distributor, has
appointed Paul Henderson as country
leader Switzerland. In his new role,
Henderson will lead Univar’s Swiss
team. Before joining Univar Switzerland, Henderson held a leadership
position in Distrupol, a Univar company, which is a major distribution
and service supplier to the polymer
consuming industry in Europe. In
this position, he successfully grew the
business in the UK, Ireland, Benelux
and the Nordic region. Henderson
joins Univar Europe following an
international career with more than
30 years in the chemical industry. He
has worked in South Africa, the U.S.
and Germany with ICI and in
Switzerland with DuPont. He gained
in-depth knowledge and experience
in a range of management positions
in several relevant sectors including
petrochemicals (ICI), synthetic fibers
(ICI/DuPont), specialty waxes
(Burmah Castrol), acrylics (Lucite
International) and plastics polymers
(Distrupol).
LINTECH INTERNATIONAL
EXPANDS SALES GROUP
Lintech International has added Sean
Crow to its sales group. Crow is based
in Los Angeles and will be covering
Southern CA, UT, NV and AZ. He joins
Lintech with an extensive coatings and
resins technical background.
ECOLOGY COATINGS NAMES
STOLZ CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Ecology Coatings, a manufacturer of
nanotechnology-enabled, UV-curable
materials, has appointed Kevin Stolz
chief financial officer. Stolz replaces
David Morgan, who left the company to
pursue other business opportunities.
Stolz joined Ecology Coatings as controller and chief accounting officer in
February 2007.
MYERS ENGINEERING HIRES
TWO NEW SALES REPS
Myers Engineering has hired two new
representatives to sell its line of dis-
persing equipment in Chile and Mexico.
Rene Pallalever has been hired to represent Chile. Gustavo Suarez Lopez has
been hired to represent the northeast
territory of Mexico.
ICI INDIA NAMES
MANAGING DIRECTOR
ICIIndia Ltd. has announced that
Rajiv Jain will step down as managing
director. Amit Jain will succeed him.
Non-executive director, M.V. Subbiah
will retire from the board. Nihal
Kaviratne has been appointed an additional director.
PPG’S PMC BUSINESS NAMES
HARTINGS GENERAL MANAGER
PPG Industries’ protective and marine
coatings (PMC) business has appointed
Michael T. Hartings as general manager, PMC, U.S. and Canada. Hartings
began his career with PPG in 1992 and
has served in several managerial roles
of increasing responsibility in the U.S.
and Asia. Most recently, Hartings was
general manager, PPG Coatings
Malaysia, where he led the automotive
and industrial coatings businesses in
Southeast Asia. Hartings will be relocating from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to
PPG’s corporate headquarters in
Pittsburgh, PA. CW
