Supplier’s Corner Cytec offers new resin for powder coatings

Cytec Industries Inc. has launched Crylcoat E04155 carboxylated resin for use with Primid XL-522 in the production of powder coatings. This polyester resin is designed for use in HAA powder coatings at a 93/7 ration. Formulations based on this product can be cured at 160˚C for 15 minutes. It is designed for outdoor durable Primid powder coatings that can cure below 170˚C. The product is for use with hydroxy-lakyl amide crosslinkers such as Primid XL-552. According to Cytec, this resin exhibits excellent flexibility with good weathering and chemical resistance. More info: Cytec Industries, Web: www.cytec.com.

SARTOMER INTRODUCES NEW MONOMER Sartomer Company has introduced CD262, a new, less volatile, liquid-form, alkyl dimethacrylate monomer for peroxide-cure applications in coatings, composites, elastomers, adhesives, sealants and polymer modification. CD262 is a low viscosity, low volatility, hydrophobic

NUPLEX RESINS LAUNCHES

LOW VOC ACRYLIC EMULSION

Nuplex Resins has developed a new acrylic emulsion for low VOC waterborne paint. Setaqua 6160 offers good leveling and wetting properties at very low co-solvent levels, according to the company. Setaqua 6160 is recommended as a letdown resin for pigmented topcoats. The waterborne acrylic emulsion was specifically developed for use in solid color topcoats on commercial vehicles, which are produced on-line and baked at temperatures of approximately 140˚C.
