PPG Names Stutelberg VP,
Automotive OEM Coatings, Americas
PPG Industries has announced that James
Stutelberg has joined the
company as vice president,
automotive OEM coatings, Americas, reporting
to Cynthia A. Niekamp,
Stutelberg joins PPG from Dow
Corning, where he was most recently vice
president, global marketing and sales, with
the company’s Hemlock Semiconductor
joint venture. He started there as a sales
professional in 1996 and was promoted
to a marketing and channel management
position. Stutelberg later became Americas-area commercial manager with responsibility for North and South America, gaining
significant experience in Latin America.
In 2004, he was promoted to Asia commercial manager, industrial lubricants and
adhesives, and relocated to Shanghai to
direct commercial activities for the business. Stutelberg ultimately gained oversight
for all aspects of the business in the region,
and he moved into specialty chemicals as
new business program manager in 2006. In
2007 he became the Asia business director
with complete profit-and-loss oversight for
the region, and in 2009 Stutelberg returned
to the U.S. to accept his most recent role.
Prior to his tenure with Dow Corning, he
was a sales professional with Ashland Inc.
for two years.

International Paint Names
Management Team For U.S.
Protective Coatings Centers
Following the recent launch of
International Paint branded Protective
Coatings Centers throughout the U.S.
and Canada, International Paint LLC
has named the management team responsible for overseeing U.S. operations. Gary
Ferguson has been named vice president
distributor sales and store operations,
and Nick Butler has been named manager, store operations.
Ferguson is responsible for managing all U.S. Protective Coatings Centers’
operations including all distributor sales
initiatives. He is an AkzoNobel veteran
of more than 28 years, having most recently served in the Decorative Paints
North America division as regional
manager, sales and operations for the
Northeast region.
Butler will lead the Protective Coatings
Centers’ team in delivering customer
service excellence, training and development, procedural compliance, and strict
adherence to HSE&S standards. He has
served the AkzoNobel Decorative Paints
North America division for more than 23
years, holding a number of field management positions in the U.S. with specific
focus in the operational management of
company-owned stores.
Trerotola Joins D.B. Becker
The D.B. Becker Co., Inc. has hired Guy
Trerotola, who will resume a role for
business development with the company
focusing on the Lawter Chemical product
lines, along with having account responsibility throughout the D.B. Becker Co.,
Inc.’s Eastern Seaboard territory.
Trerotola was formerly the Hexion
IAR commercial manager, and later, senior account manager for the newly acquired Lawter Chemical, subsidiary of
Harima Corp. In his new role, he brings
in-depth knowledge and understanding
of the inks and coatings marketplaces,
along with manufacturing, site management and raw material supply-chain
from his time owning and running Walsh
Manufacturing Co.
Altana Reorganizes
Management Team
Altana AG has made changes in the top
positions of its four divisions. The presidents of the company’s divisions, BYK,
Eckart, Elanta and Actega, will each
take over responsibility for another division of Altana.
With these changes, Roland Peter,
up until now president Division BYK
Additives & Instruments, will take over
the management of Actega Coatings and
Sealants from Guido Forstbach, who will
now head Elantas Electrical Insulation.
The latter division’s previous president,
Wolfgang Schütt will now assume the
management of Eckart Effect Pigments,
whose former president, Christoph
Schlünken, will take over the management of BYK.
CEPE Names New Technical
Director
CEPE, the European Council of Paint,
Printing Ink and Artists’ Colours industry,
announced that effective Feb. 20, 2013,
Didier Leroy will become the new technical director. He succeeds Jacques Warnon,
who will retire from CEPE. Before joining CEPE, Leroy worked for several
companies in the field of pesticides. For
the last ten years, he has been with Troy
Chemicals, where he held the position of
regulatory affairs manager and dealt with
dossiers on REACH, biocides and CLP.
He also actively participated in CEFIC’s
committee for biocide manufacturers.
Oxford Advanced Surfaces
Adds to Advisory Board
Oxford Advanced Surfaces Group, a
technology developer targeting a number
of global markets including consumer
and industrial displays, solar panels and
adhesion markets, has made an addition
to its Technical Advisory Board. Steven
Abbott has joined Mark Moloney on the
OAS Technical Advisory Board. He brings
with him a wealth of industrial, scientific
and commercial knowledge from both research posts and a long commercial career
at ICI and MacDermid Autotype. He is a
Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry
and an independent consultant to global
tier 1 industrial partners. CW
