Versatile automation: HK Systems introduces the HK75/x—a family of automated
storage and retrieval machines for applications requiring dense storage and high
throughput for a diverse set of SKUs, cases, and/or totes.
The HK75/x is extremely versatile, with the capability to readily transport both cases and
totes with dimensions ranging from 8 to 24 inches. It has the ability to support a wide
array of extractor mechanisms and is capable of fulfilling smaller order sizes at increased
frequency. Key features include high speeds and accelerations, a scalable design, multiple and flexible extractor options, dual and independent lift carriages, and maximized utilization of shelf space with dynamic shelving. (HK Systems, www.hksystems.com)
Return to sensor: Schneider Electric offers its
new XUV Fork Ultrasonic Sensor. Built for efficiency and equipment cost reduction, the ultrasonic
sensor uses thru-beam technology to detect
labels of any material, size, color, or translucency.
The thru-beam technology allows the ultrasonic sensor to send sound through an object and
determine the thickness by how much sound is
returned. The ultrasonic sensor is suitable for a
variety of applications, including label, ply, double-sheet, splice, and wrinkle/seam detection.
The ultrasonic sensor is IP65 rated and operates in the temperature range of 5°C to 55°C
( 41°F to 131°F). The +/- keys on the sensor
allow for real-time modifications based on the
thickness of the material being sensed. The
sensor also can be locked to avoid unnecessary adjustments and will retain its settings
even if the sensor is powered down and
turned back on. (Schneider Electric, (800)

Ready to roll: FKI Logistex presents the
Logistex MR200 Motorized Roller Conveyor, a
time-saving, energy-efficient system that is part
of the company’s new Logistex Case Conveyor
Solutions (LCCS) product family.
The MR200 provides 24-volt motorized
roller zero-contact accumulation and features a
standard control module for straightforward
programming without the need for re-engi-neering or additional tools. The conveyor
arrives ready to plug and play, featuring a wide
range of pre-programmed zone control options
that can be changed using simple switch settings, without the need for software programming. Those looking for more customization
can add a “zone director” to perform higher-level control actions, while taking advantage of
the built-in zone logic control.
The MR200 features run-on-demand logic
and all-electrical design, significantly increasing energy savings over a conventional conveyor, according to the company. The MR200
reduces wiring and includes robust molded
connections that decrease potential points of
failure. In addition, integral wiring and hardware LED status indicators simplify diagnostics and troubleshooting. (FKI Logistex,
