Fiscal restraint without sacrifice?
According to the Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA),
it’s time to press the reset button for military logistics. At its annual Military
Logistics Summit, the organization will look at strategies for adapting to a
new budgetary climate that demands more for less, without sacrificing support
to the warfighter. The event will take place June 27–30 in Washington, D.C.
Presentations by more than 35 logistics leaders from the Department of
Defense, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Marine Corps, and the Canadian Ministry of
Defense will address ways in which the logistics community as a whole can
better support the warfighter. Topics will include asset visibility, performance-based logistics, metrics, and strategic procurement.
The event includes an awards ceremony to recognize the best asset visibility program, the overall best performance-based logistics implementation, the
best force or fleet reset/retrograde implementation, and logistician of the year.
