Data Extractor for SAP: RedPrairie Corp. has
unveiled the RedPrairie Data Extractor, a new
solution that provides seamless integration
between SAP warehouse management (WM)
and RedPrairie Workforce Management (WFM)
technologies.
RedPrairie’s Data Extractor and integration
tool allows companies currently operating on the
SAP WM platform to optimize labor spend and
workforce productivity through RedPrairie’s
WFM technology. The solution was developed to
extract relevant data from SAP WM and translate
these transactions into standard WFM inputs.
Data Extractor leverages SAP WM and
RedPrairie WFM systems to their full potential
without the high cost and excessive ramp-up
times of custom integrations. Data Extractor
translates labor data from SAP WM to guide
RedPrairie WFM planning for all main functions
of warehouse operation, including inbound
receiving and put-away, replenishment, outbound picking, returns, cycle counting, and
user sign-on and sign-off.
The RedPrairie Data Extractor works by translating SAP intermediate document transactions containing inventory movement and storage data
into standard WFM input. Since SAP WM and
RedPrairie WFM are separate systems, Data
Extractor works with any release of RedPrairie
WFM at 2007.1 or higher. This allows for SAP and
RedPrairie systems to be upgraded independently,
as needed. (RedPrairie, www.RedPrairie.com)
E-Class Mark III printer: Datamax-O’Neil, a
manufacturer of industrial-grade label and
receipt printing solutions, has introduced a
new 4-inch label thermal desktop printer, the
E-Class Mark III. Available in four distinct models, the E-Class Mark III has been designed to
meet a broad range of customer requirements
and applications, including transportation,
logistics, and manufacturing.
The E-Class Mark III features rugged double-walled construction. Fewer moving and longer-lasting parts reduce maintenance requirements
and ensure high reliability. The printer comes
equipped with numerous language emulations
and a selection of connectivity options to make
replacement of existing printers or installation
of new printers an easy process.
The E-Class Mark III reduces daily operational
costs by minimizing power consumption with
its stationary print head design. The printer
uses larger, more economical 300-meter ribbons that reduce materials costs. In addition,
the E-Class Mark III allows users to print only
the number of labels that are required, meaning there is no wasted media. (Datamax-O’Neil,

7500 Series casters: Hamilton Caster’s new 7500 Series casters are designed to
carry heavy loads over uneven surfaces. Constructed with a premium forged steel
design and heavy-duty, semi-pneumatic tires, these casters offer twice the load
capacity of a traditional pneumatic caster, the company says. They deliver a
smooth ride, even over rough or broken concrete.
The 7500 Series casters are available in six wheel sizes, with diameters ranging
from 10 to 21 inches, and with load capacities ranging from 1,000 to 4,200
pounds per caster. The casters are also offered in a dual-wheel version that doubles their total load capacity. Options include four-position swivel locks and
brakes. (Hamilton Caster, www.hamiltoncaster.com)
CS100 case scale: Ossid has introduced its new CS100 case scale. This NTEP-certified scale offers a range of real-time data management and data communications advantages, especially in terms of connectivity with either carrier systems or a third-party website.
The Ossid CS100 utilizes the Microsoft SQL Database
(MSDE) for seamless data integration and data transfers. It
offers network connectivity through wired or wireless eth-ernet for automatic order processing and tracking, remote
user training, off-site maintenance, software upgrades, and
more. The scale also provides automatic downloads of product recipes to other
line devices, such as labelers, inkjet printers, scanners, and case packers for reductions in human error.
The scale has easy-to-follow menu prompts, a 15-inch color touch screen, and the
capability to support multiple languages. It can handle cases measuring up to 27. 5
inches wide and 29. 5 inches long and weighing up to 100 pounds. (Ossid,
