now offering its AccuLazr AL5010 laser bar-code scanner. The
new scanner uses a modular design that includes a scan head,
mounting base, power supply, and a choice of interface modules.
Housed in a rugged enclosure, the AL5010 is designed
for almost any industrial environment, from distribution
centers to tire manufacturing
plants. It is easily integrated
into most applications, including pick modules, print-and-apply systems, routing systems, and sortation systems.
The AL5010 series includes
five models, with scanning
ranges from 5 to 48 inches (depending on the bar code’s size) for
both standard and high-density bar-code configurations.
The AL5010 scanner requires no maintenance other than keeping the scanning window clean in very dusty or dirty environments. In the event of failure, the scan head is “hot-swappable”
and can be replaced in less than five minutes without the need
for reconfiguration or alignment. Users can press a button on the
scan head to upload parameters from the storage module in the
