CP40 Series mobile computers: CipherLab,
which provides auto ID and data capture systems, has introduced its first product embedded with the Windows
Mobile operating system: the CipherLab
CP40 Series Industrial
Mobile Computer. With
Windows Mobile, users
can access a wealth of
pre-existing applications
for industrial, distribution, or field-service
operations.
The CP40 Series units
come with a built-in
scanner, camera, phone,
and Internet access.
They are lightweight,
thin (less than an inch thick), and ergonomic.
Each handheld comes bundled with a com-munication/charging cradle, spare battery,
USB cable, power supply, headphones, and an
extra stylus.
For warehousing applications, the CP40
Series offers RFID (radio-frequency identification) and built-in cameras to capture quality
defects. Where real-time data sharing is
essential, a WLAN (wireless local area network) can be used for wireless access to
enterprise resource planning software.
For transportation and delivery applica-tions, the CP40 Series provides GPS route
navigation and WWAN (wireless wide area
network) data communication. (CipherLab,

Enhancements to Pick Execution system:
Numina Group has added labor management
and velocity-based SKU-picking analytics to its
line of pre-developed software modules and
automation technologies dedicated to optimizing the pick, pack, and ship process. The
new modules work within Numina Group’s
Pick Execution system, which already includes
pick-to-light, voice picking, and an RF-based
system. Pick Execution not only automates
the pick-and-pack process, but also provides
the tools to increase the profitability of the
overall order fulfillment process.
Adding the labor management module
and SKU-velocity analytics boosts voice picking by providing the operational tools that
enable such process improvements as re-slotting higher movers into “golden zones”
(between the picker’s shoulders and knees)
and optimizing the picking walk path to
reduce order fulfillment labor. (Numina

GT10 Tow Tractor: Seegrid has expanded its vision-guided Robotic Industrial Truck
product line with the launch of the GT10 Tow Tractor. The GT10 has a 10,000-
pound tow capacity; is vision guided; travels without a worker; and does not require
wires, tapes, or lasers for operation.
Seegrid’s vision-guided robotic GT10 Tow Tractor delivers affordable transport with
a rapid payback period, according to the company. It reduces non-value-added
manned travel time and frees workers to focus on higher-value tasks within a facility.
The tow tractors can perform multiple routes for one shift and can easily change
routes for second and third shifts. (Seegrid, www.seegrid.com)
