Unified-control robotic solutions: Wynright, a manufacturer and integrator in the
material handling industry, has begun implementing unified control robotic solutions.
With unified control, robot control and programming takes place directly from a programmable automation controller (PAC or PLC). The concept is designed to reduce the
overall cost of ownership of robotic automation.
Wynright’s initial focus involves a commercial palletizing solution that utilizes a
Yaskawa Motoman robot and its MLX100 gateway. Wynright now integrates the
robot into the overall automation cell using Agile Planet’s unified robot control software, RLX. (Wynright, www.wynright.com/)

Modular Series D hydraulic lift: Pflow
Industries has added the Modular Series D
hydraulic lift to its line-up of vertical material
lifts and vertical reciprocating conveyors.
The Modular Series D,
a modular version of
the company’s Series D
hydraulic lift, is delivered in two or three
stackable, bolt-togeth-er sections. The modular design allows for
installation in a single
day.
The new modular lift
is especially well suited
for mezzanine or balcony applications in
both new construction
and existing structures.
It can efficiently lift
loads of up to 3,000
pounds between two levels and can move
loads to heights of 15 feet at a speed of 17
feet per minute. It is available with either a 5-
by 5-foot or 6- by 6-foot carriage and in
either 2,000- or 3,000-pound capacity models. The unit is fully self-supporting and,
depending on the application, can be loaded
and unloaded from any of three operating
sides on both levels.
The Modular Series D hydraulic lift is low-maintenance. The device is driven by dual
two-inch ram direct-acting hydraulic cylinders
and has no cables, chains, bearings, or other
components that can break or that require
lubrication.
The Modular Series D also features fully
enclosed construction with a welded steel
hoistway superstructure containing the lift
carriage, guide rails, hydraulic cylinder, and
safety gates with interlocks. The lifts also provide a pre-wired remote mounted control
panel and motor, ready for immediate installation. Push-button stations and gate interlocks feature simple quick-connect hook-up.
Numerous safety measures are included,
such as an automatic safety barrier for fall
protection should someone override the
upper-level gate. In addition, adjustable
mechanical stops ensure that the lift is level
with the upper deck. A redundant overload
protection prevents carriage movement if it is
loaded to more than 120 percent of rated
capacity, and velocity fuses prevent uncontrolled descent in the case of a hydraulic hose
rupture. (Pflow Industries Inc.,
