Conroll small-product conveyor: Conroll offers a conveying
solution for small products. This
new system is suitable for conveying any small object that can stand
minimal line pressure buildup. The
conveyor has individually powered
rollers on 1.5-inch centers, which
can move goods as small as 3 inches at a very low pressure level.
Typical applications include handling books, paper goods, cans or beverages in six packs, larger cans and pails for
paint, vegetables, chemicals, batteries, and consumer electronics items.
The conveyor’s drive system employs plastic spools on a powered mini line shaft
connected to each roller with round polyurethane belts. The spools transmit sufficient torque to drive the carrying rollers but slip upon overload. The result is low
pressure, low noise, and low power consumption.
Between-frame dimensions can range from 6 to 24 inches, and speeds are easily adjusted from 10 to 80 feet per minute. Power is derived from energy-efficient
24-volt DC motors. The line shaft is housed completely within the extruded aluminum side frame, so there are no exposed moving parts, other than the rollers
themselves.
Conroll offers these conveyors completely assembled in pre-wired 60-inch modules. One DC motor can drive 10 feet of conveyor, and 60-inch slave-driven extensions are also available. Carrying rollers are 1. 3 inches in diameter and rotate on
precision ground ABEC1 ball bearings at both ends, providing quiet and mainte-nance-free operation, says the company. (Conroll Corp., www.conroll.com)

Sitara ARM processor, the EP10 boasts a large
3.7-inch, high-resolution LCD display with integrated touch screen. It supports the latest mobile
communication standards, including CDMA,
GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Incorporated into the
device are a two-dimensional omni-directional
imager and an additional 3.2-megapixel autofo-cus camera with dual LED flash.
The EP10 offers a full array of interactive sensors, including gyroscope, light sensor, GPS,
magnetometer (digital compass), accelerometer, and proximity sensor. These sensors can be
further customized through both software and
hardware development kits available to partners. (Psion PLC, www.psion.com)
