UPS expands Latin America freight service:
With Latin American economies showing solid
growth, UPS has significantly expanded the
capacity of its express air network throughout
the region. The carrier has increased its cargo
capacity by more than 50 percent on 19 weekly
flights into Central and South America, replacing
a Boeing 757 narrow-body aircraft with a new,
larger B-767 wide-body freighter. To increase its
reach into the Americas, Asia, and other parts of
the world, UPS continues to invest in new B-
767s, with 20 currently on order.
The flights to Latin America originate from
UPS’s Americas hub in Miami and fly into Quito
and Guayaquil, Ecuador; Bogota, Colombia;
Panama City, Panama; Guatemala City,
Guatemala; and Managua, Nicaragua. The reliability of these scheduled services makes them
suitable for importers and exporters with tight
supply chain and cold chain requirements,

ResinDek platform flooring: Cornerstone
Specialty Wood Products now offers ResinDek
elevated platform flooring, a line of mezzanine
flooring panels that provide an ergonomic, economic, and environmentally friendly floor for
distribution centers. ResinDek panels are comfortable to walk and work on, resulting in
fewer lost-time injuries from back strain,
according to the company. In addition,
ResinDek costs $3 to $5 per square foot less
than concrete and is less expensive to ship.
The company says a recent study showed
that engineered wood products like ResinDek
offer a number of environmental advantages
over concrete, including lower carbon emissions, lower energy consumption and lower

LiuGong forklifts: LiuGong Machinery Corp.,
a China-based construction equipment manufacturer, is entering the North American and
Western European markets with a new line of
forklifts, including diesel, electric, and LPG-fueled machines.
Trucks for international distribution include
Class One electric rider trucks with AC drive
and hydraulics, all of which are certified to UL
and CE certification. Class Five pneumatic-tire
internal-combustion trucks will soon be available, also with UL and CE certifications. The
company is in the process of expanding its
large-capacity IC pneumatic line.
The operational systems on all LiuGong
trucks are easy to maintain and easy to service,
helping hold down operating costs, according

Paylode reusable dunnage: Paylode has unveiled a new line of 100-percent
recycled reusable dunnage products for truck, rail, and intermodal cargo. The
company says the dunnage saves money, cushions shipments, and protects the
environment at the same time.
Made of durable precision-formed plastic dunnage, Paylode products are
designed to replace the corrugated cardboard and wooden dunnage traditionally
used to protect loads. The
introductory product line
includes bulkhead spacers,
separator pads, void panels, lateral void fillers, and
plastic boards.
The Paylode products
cushion loads without
crushing them. In addition
to saving money by reducing damage, Paylode products also eliminate the cost
of replacing corrugated and
cardboard dunnage after every shipment. Paylode products can be reused for hundreds of trips.
Suitable for heavy, high-volume shipments that are prone to damage, Paylode
products are easy and fast to load, since they weigh less than half of what wood
alternatives weigh. They are also nestable and resistant to moisture and heat, so
they can be stored outside to save valuable warehouse storage space.
Paylode will buy back all of its products at the end of their lives and recycle
